All-Time High Trading Strategy For Stocks (How Often All-Time High?) The S&P 500 spent less than a tenth of its time at all-time highs since 1950. The average number of all-time highs per year is almost 21. But despite this, it has produced decent returns for investors. We backtest the following trading rules: We buy the S&P 500 when it is less than 5% away from its all-time high We sell when it falls more than 5% from its all-time high The equity curve of the strategy is shown in the image You can find more info about this trading strategy here: https://lnkd.in/dHJKCZSg #stockmarket #S&P500 #tradingstrategy #systematictrading #investing #trading #tradingtips #algotrading

Frontier has done a great job in analyzing the current case for over weighting small caps in your portfolio. I especially like how they capture their capital market assumptions for several different asset classes in one chart (the last one in this blog).
The S&P 500® has been on an impressive run for over a decade. However, there's an underdog contender that we shouldn't overlook: small-cap stocks. Find out why in our latest blog by Hazen Dickerson, CFA: https://lnkd.in/gTdb54ar #smallcapstocks #investmentinsights

Since March 9th, 2009, where stocks bottomed following the Global Financial Crisis, there have been 28 previous pullbacks of at least 5% for the S&P 500. Impressively, despite these setbacks, stocks are up 644% on a price basis alone and over 900% including dividends over that entire period. Volatility and pullbacks like we saw in April are completely normal and expected, but it's the long-term vision of your financial plan that matters most. Remember, investing is a marathon, not a sprint. #financialplanning #investing #longtermgoals

Over the last two decades, small-cap stocks have typically traded at a premium of 1.07X that of large-cap stocks. Currently, they are trading at 0.7 times the value of large caps, which represents a 30% discount. Remember diversification is not just a strategy; it's a foundational element of prudent financial planning, designed to manage risk and enhance the potential for returns over time. #smallcaps #valuations #insights #macro #opportunities #discounts

Equity risk premium predicts how much a stock might outperform risk-free investments over the long term. Calculating the risk premium can be done by taking the estimated expected returns on stocks and subtracting them from the estimated expected return on risk-free bonds. Estimating future stock returns is difficult, but it can be done through an earnings-based or dividend-based approach, or by using the price/earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio. Calculating the risk premium requires some assumptions that run from safe to dubious.
