The more detailed and concise drawings are, the more accurate pricing will be. Poorly through out drawings will result in poorly thought out pricing. It will cost more the less is put into the drawings. Crappy drawings results in crappy pricing. Any others?

The lead architect was mesmerized upon visiting the site. The site has not gotten to the finishing stage as depicted in this picture before he makes his amazing remarks about the work done. He seldomly visit the site. He only visits site on major milestone (i.e during forming and the rest). The joy of an architect is seeing his concept come to life. We did just that. We are PAT-ROBOS! Dear architects, We critic some of your decisions base on foresight and not from hate. The team reco-ordinate and reorientate the building for more functionality. We reorientate some openings, we readjust some toilet features and the rest. The team makes 20% changes of the design, which is not entirely bad. But for the design and concept, they are extremely good at what they do. When we Engineers criticize your work, it doesn't come from point of arrogance or out of too know. We are guiding you from of our wealth of experience. You're master of aesthetic and functionality, but also, you can not see it all. We Engineers also have people who oversees our work also. What compels an architect to draw, without a program or client or site, without any expectation that it will result in a building? Richard Griswold (his drawing is here) believes that the role of the architect is "to imagine increasingly intricate visions of a future world." And I think this is just right. The architect's task is to imagine, they produce visions, and these are necessarily forward-looking. I've worked on design and construction projects without a single animating idea and can testify that the results are lifeless, visible all around. The architect's professional role has been broadened and muted so that it's often more coordinator than master, managing trades and navigating permissions. Now especially we need from architects their visions. They assert the character of a building clearly, right away, so that it can be carried all the way through.
