September 18-24 is National Child Passenger Safety Week, and Sept. 23 is National Seat Check Saturday. On average 710 children under the age of 13 years old were killed in passenger vehicles in 2021, and more than 100,000 were injured. With one child under the age of 13 injured in an automobile accident every 33 seconds, Lifeguardly hopes everyone will spread the word.

We discussed the essential role lifeguards play and the innovative use of drone technology for proactive alerts and prevention measures. For those hitting the beaches, here are some safety tips to keep in mind to minimize the risk of shark encounters: 1. Always swim in groups - Sharks often target isolated individuals. 2. Safe Swim Times - Avoid swimming at dawn or dusk when sharks are most active. 3. Don't Swim with open wounds - Sharks are attracted to blood in the water. open wounds increase your risk. 4. Jewelry - Refrain from wearing shiny jewelry as it can resemble fish scales to sharks. 5. Stay close to shore - Don't swim too far from the shore and always be aware of your surroundings. Safety is paramount; it is important to use drone technology to complement lifeguard efforts to ensure that.
