I’ve always been asked this: How does having a remote medical assistant work? I say, A remote medical assistant is just like your typical in-clinic staff who assists in your day-to-day operations. —They can do reception, appointment management, scheduling, billing, insurance verifications, collections, and many more! As long as it doesn’t require interaction with the patient, it can be done by your remote MA. Now, you ask: How can I hire one for my practice? You can do it in 2 ways: In-house Leverage a remote staffing company (LIKE US!) But, not all staffing companies are built the same— Here’s how MedVA takes it to the next level: 👉 Our remote medical and dental assistants are HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS (70%+ are RNs) 👉 They’re trained with our INTENSIVE founder-designed process (EHR/EMR, HIPAA, PHI, and more!) 👉 A DEDICATED Personal Relationship Manager shortlists candidates according to your needs and provides additional assistance in onboarding and beyond 👉 ALL-IN FLAT RATE per hour, with no extra, hidden, or set-up fees 👉 And the BEST PART—our NO-CONTRACT POLICY means that you can swap candidates, giving you time to find the BEST FIT for your practice At MEDVA, we do the heavy lifting for you. Collaborating physician jobs. There is a special dark place for job postings like this. It's a large company with a lot of money that has hired a ton of PAs and NPs and is looking for a physician to take on all the risk by "collaborating" with clinicians they might not even know. I'm all for profits. I'm all for lowering the cost of care. I'm also aware that there is no oversight for this stuff so it's up to the business leaders to make sure they are doing right by the patient (many do that quite well, some don't.) Let's say you get paid a couple hundred dollars per month per NP/PA you supervise. There is obviously a cap, a ceiling. And you might see 20% of the charts though the reality is closer to 2-3% and you won't see the entire conversation in the asynchronous world we live in now. Is the money worth it? Is it in line with the risk you want to take or in line with what your ideal medical career looks like? As for the NPs and PAs, I think most are incredibly hardworking and genuinely looking for collab docs who will help them, impart their wisdom, share their expertise. This kind of collab crap job offers is just taking a shit on a wonderful structure we've built where NPs, PAs, MDs, DOs and many other healthcare professionals can share the care of a patient.

Executive Scribe || Quality Auditor || Physical Assistant || Poet || Pharmacist || EHR Trainer || Implementation Specialist
Today, I want to shed light on the often overlooked challenges faced by medical scribes. While the role is crucial in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring accurate documentation, the reality of our daily work can be incredibly frustrating and disheartening. As a medical scribe, I spend long hours meticulously transcribing patient encounters, updating electronic health records (EHRs), and ensuring that every detail is captured accurately. This work is essential, yet it often feels like an invisible job. The demands are high, and the pressure to be perfect is constant. Here are some of the key frustrations I face: 1. Lack of Recognition: Despite being a vital part of the healthcare team, medical scribes are rarely acknowledged for their contributions. Our work behind the scenes is what allows doctors to focus on patient care, but this goes unnoticed by many. 2. Intense Workload: The workload can be overwhelming. We're expected to keep up with the fast pace of patient encounters, often juggling multiple tasks at once. This can lead to burnout and fatigue, especially when working long shifts with little to no breaks. 3. Low Compensation: The compensation for medical scribes is often not reflective of the level of responsibility and skill required for the job. Many of us are underpaid, despite the critical role we play in the healthcare system. 4. High Stress Levels: The nature of the job requires us to be highly attentive and precise, as errors in documentation can have serious consequences. This constant need for accuracy can be stressful, especially when working under tight deadlines. 5. Limited Career Progression: Opportunities for career advancement within the role of a medical scribe are limited. Many of us aspire to further our careers in healthcare but find it challenging to transition to other roles due to the lack of recognition and support for our contributions. Despite these challenges, I remain passionate about healthcare and committed to providing the best support I can to our providers and patients. However, it's important for the healthcare industry to acknowledge and address these issues. Recognizing the value of medical scribes and providing fair compensation, manageable workloads, and opportunities for growth would not only improve our job satisfaction but also enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery. To all my fellow medical scribes, I see you, and I appreciate the hard work and dedication you bring to our profession. Let's continue to advocate for the recognition and support we deserve. #MedicalScribe #Healthcare #JobFrustration #Recognition #CareerAdvancement #HealthcareSupport
