When doing renovations don’t forget to contact your fire alarm system service provider to see if any devices will be effected by the renovation. These devices could have been framed in properly by removing the decorative cover plate and possibly adding a small extension ring added, which would allow the tiler to install flush to the junction box. It’s unfortunate how often fire alarm is an afterthought during construction.
I often think the fire alarm doesn't get any consideration at all. I saw devices buried under the drywall at two places and another place, the hardwired smoke alarm was removed and replaced with a ceiling fan. All three times, the resident at the place was in a royal snit when told they had to spend more money to have these issues corrected.
I was at a new construction meeting on 50 million dollar project. I waited and waited for my turn to go over our FA design and they suddenly said, alright we gotta head back to Dallas. I said, WHY DO CONSTUCTION CONPANIES NEVER UNDERSTAND? NO FIRE ALARM NO C/O! We absolutely have to go over this before you leave! Smh!!
At least they didn’t just cover them up 😂
You’re welcome 💯 correct my friend
That looks like those new recessed monitor modules 🤦🏼♂️
And then, when the final is next week... "hey, I need you guys to inspect my alarm before my final." ... a few days later "Here is your deficiency report, we can fix these for $x. We're able to get started after you sign and we receive some of these parts." "WHAT!?!?"
Amen

6moThis is the monkey in the circus we call renovations. Everything is done to code minimum until it comes to the final punch list. Then everyone is in a rush because they didn’t read the spec or follow the code in the 1st place. Why didn’t you write this up? Not my 🙈.
