Preparing for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) SysOps Administrator - Associate exam? I passed the exam last week and want to share a few tips and resources. 👇 Study Strategy: ✔️ Review the official exam guide and documentation from AWS to build a working understanding of each domain and the related services. (3 months out) ✔️ Hands-on experience in the AWS management console focusing on logging, monitoring, workload automation, networking, and configuration skills. (3 months out) ✔️ Take a few practice exams to get some initial feedback on strengths and areas of need. Use the score reports to determine a study plan. (2 months out) ✔️ Take and re-take more practice exams until achieving 95%+. (1 month out) ✔️ Save 1-2 practice exams until the week of the exam and use them to simulate an actual testing experience. (1 week out) It’s important to know everything in the exam guide but these are a few concepts that I focused on: 🔸 EventBridge and event-driven architecture. 🔸 Cloudformation stacks and CLI commands. 🔸 DNS record types and aliases - A record, CNAME, etc. 🔸 Route 53 routing policies - failover, geoproximity, latency, etc. 🔸 VPC concepts - private/public subnets, flow logs, NACLs, internet gateways. 🔸 RDS performance optimization - read replicas, RDS proxy. 🔸 Logging use cases - VPC flow logs, ELC access logs, Cloudtrail, Cloudwatch. 🔸 Storage Gateway protocols (NFS, iSCSI, SMB) and use cases (Tape, S3 File, FSX File, Volume.) 🔸 Debugging and troubleshooting common scenarios and configuration issues. Helpful Resources: ☁️ Jon Bonso's AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate Practice Exams. Absolutely essential! High-quality questions and a realistic simulation of the testing experience. https://lnkd.in/epnaWtyi ☁️ Stéphane Maarek and Abhishek Singh's AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate practice exams. More high-quality practice with scenario-based questions. https://lnkd.in/ew4CszxY ☁️ Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate (SOA-C02) Exam Guide paired with AWS official documentation to fill gaps in knowledge. https://lnkd.in/edXKQDxu I found the SysOps exam to be the most challenging of the three associate exams. The scope is broad and it requires deep knowledge of configuring, deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS as well as implementing security controls and compliance requirements. I’m excited to take this next step in my AWS journey and I’m looking forward to applying these skills in my current role. Thank you to Principal Financial Group for continuing to provide opportunities and resources to grow and validate my AWS skills! #awscertified #cloudengineer #awscloud #sysops https://lnkd.in/eEQTJsUY
