𝑮𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒓𝒂 𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔—𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝑴𝒊𝒅-𝑭𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 This remind me why being present for your clients truly matters. Yesterday, one of my clients had an accident at her gym and urgently needed medical advice and assistance. It just so happened that I was boarding a domestic flight when she reached out. Despite being on the move, I quickly connected with our medical partner to recommend a trusted doctor and prioritize her appointment. While I was still mid-flight, she managed to see the doctor and receive the care she needed. Once I landed, the next steps were simple: guide her through submitting and processing the claim to ensure everything was taken care of seamlessly. Moments like this highlight the importance of being reliable, accessible, and proactive—not just in resolving problems but in supporting the people who trust us with their well-being. A small effort on our part can make a huge difference in someone’s day. To me, that’s what this profession is about: being there for our clients when they need it most. #ClientCare #ProfessionalSupport #QuickActionMatters #LeadershipInAction #EmpathyInBusiness

This is how the groundswell begins. For change to happen in healthcare, it will take the masses to push for change. Sometimes there are leaders among us who are brave enough to speak up on issues they see affecting the people on the ground (patients, caregivers, healthcare pro's...) to shed light on issues that often go neglected. I am grateful to Halle Tecco, MPH, MBA who consistently speaks up when things don't make sense or things go unnoticed. People like her lead the change. Today she shed light on a topic a think about a lot: needle phobia. Most human being do not like needles and there are real consequences. People with severe needle phobia die sooner because naturally they avoid healthcare... because virtually every medical procedure begins with needles. Let us finally face this reality that affects us all and talk about it. Needle fear is nothing to be ashamed of. It is only human to dislike and avoid a sharp metal object wielded by a stranger. What if we validated these feelings? And offered compassion, understanding, and SOLUTIONS? This is Thimble. Let's do something about it together. If you'd like to see more empathy for your loved ones, yourself, or your patients when it comes to needles, share you why here. With your voice, we will create a new standard of care for needle procedures. #stickwithcompassion
I recently saw that British Airways hosts a course for people afraid of flying, which culminates in a 45-minute flight. An estimated 2.5% to 6.5% of the population has aviophobia, or the fear of flying. Guess what else people are afraid of? 💉 22% of adults have trypanophobia, strong fears around needles 🙅♀️ 3% have iatrophobia, which is an extreme fear of doctors People are afraid of MRIs, colonscopies, the dentist, shots, pap-smears, blood draws, surgeries, and more. It leads to people avoiding or delaying important care. Why don't we talk about this? And more importantly, why don't we do something about it? We need this British Airways Flying with Confidence course in healthcare!!!

Wrapping up an 18+ hour travel day that should have been 6ish. I take it in stride as flight operation teams have a goal to keep us safe…. and I’m ok with that. I’m happy to be sitting in a metal tube moving 500mph+, texting my family, and surfing the internet. The reality of our today is grand…. I realized that Global Medical Response 911 Nurse Navigation has navigated over 20k patients YTD, a new record this early in the year. With multiple large ongoing new implementations occurring simultaneously across the country… our team is booked for the summer. My goal for our superstar team is to break 60k patients this year. A new record…. 10k+ of those never touched an ER this year, yet was destined to under ‘old models’. They got the right care, at the right time, at the right price. That is at least $25,000,000 saved in health care dollars and May isn’t finished…. That is 10,000+ saved EMS responses. That is more EMS providers having time to get to a cardiac arrest or gunshot quicker, or maybe have their lunch without interruption… Imagine this at full scale…..👀

AirCARE1’s medical air ambulances offer many advantages to patients and their families when transport is necessary. A few benefits include: 🛫 Speed: Our air ambulances fly higher and faster than commercial jets, enabling patients to get to their destinations quickly and efficiently. 🛫 Safety: Air ambulances are equipped with all the medical devices and equipment found in a medical facility so patients can receive the same high level of quality care they did before their flight. 🛫 Availability: We tailor our flight times to meet our patients’ needs, being prepared to launch in as little as two hours once the necessary paperwork is received. 🛫 Quality: Patients will receive expert medical care from skilled medical crews using advanced medical technology to ensure safety and health. #airambulance #airmedicaltransport #medicaltransport #medevac #learjet

What a great call out! Love that this course exists and 100% agree this should also exist for fears within medicine. I had to go check it and learn more https://lnkd.in/gQ8Ue4_q they even have classes tailored for adults, teens and children. Medicine learned from the airline industry with time outs and safety, can we do the same here?! From their website: "Our primary course is divided into morning (technical) and afternoon (psychological) sessions before we take a short flight aboard a BA jet (normally used on our short haul network) accompanied by our team of pilots, cabin crew and psychologists along with the normal operating BA pilots and cabin crew. During the flight, an extra pilot on the flight deck gives a running commentary explaining the various phases of the flight and just what is happening." Now for medicine: Our primary course is divided into morning (technical) and afternoon (psychological) sessions before they have a vaccination that they are due for (classes can occur in the fall for flu shots) accompanied by our team of doctors, nurses and psychologists. During the vaccination, an extra doctor or nurse will be present gives a running commentary explaining the various phases of the preparation and injection. Could maybe even do it with a colonoscopy scheduled at the end!
