Even though I typically take digital notes, there are times when I prefer paper or a dry erase board—especially when mapping out something as complex as the mortgage lifecycle and its tech touchpoints. Ultimately, each lender's workflow is going to be unique. Having the ability to visualize, scribble, erase, and adapt is critical for actually understanding how to provide the greatest experience possible. Lenders need to develop a workflow that's tailored to their individual needs, which is why seeing technology as "solutions" rather than "products" is also necessary. The ability to easily integrate numerous connected platforms throughout the process ensures a frictionless experience no matter where a lender is on their digital lending journey. If you haven't already, I recommend mapping out your processes. An end-to-end visual can help identify bottlenecks and opportunities for easy improvements that will minimize friction, cost, and time. ...and use a dry-erase board.
