I have a confession to make. I am one of the weirdos that goes nuts on Valentine's Day. I buy the flowers, the card, chocolates, gifts, etc.  The whole 9 years. The thing is, my wife doesn’t care about any of that. All she wants is for me to tell her how much I care about her and love her. Employee appreciation is the same thing. You can give your staff pizza parties, kombucha on tap, happy hours, or even cash bonuses, but sometimes what they really need to hear is that you think they’re doing a great job and you really appreciate having them on your team. If you haven’t done that recently, I encourage you to act on that today (I do NOT, however, recommend you tell your staff that you love them).
