Since 1999, our corporate headquarters at 501 North Broadway has been the cornerstone of our operations. It’s hard to believe that, in earlier years, we occupied just one floor of an office building down the street from our current location. This photo of one of our old entrance doors highlights the remarkable growth and evolution of our firm over the years.

Just back from a trip to London, and was reunited with my one time obsession - The Shard! Living in London (2010-2012), I watched the Shard rise, transforming the skyline. Every time I emerged from a Tube station, there it was, a little taller, a little more defined, and I was so captivated that I even started a Tumblr page dedicated to it – "Shard Alert." To this day, the Shard remains my favourite building in the world. It's not just the structure itself but what it represents. And every time a friend sends me a picture of it (to this day!), I'm reminded of those days of gradual progress and the ever-changing skyline of London. This experience mirrors so much of what we encounter in leadership development and leading teams. Just like the construction of the Shard, building a cohesive, high-performing team is a process of continuous growth and development. It's about laying a strong foundation, then adding layer by layer of skills, trust, and experiences. Just as the London skyline changed with the addition of the Shard, so too do our teams and strategies evolve over time. So, as we continue to lead and develop our teams, let's remember the lessons of the Shard. Let's embrace change, strive for progress, and always, always reach for the sky. Because in leadership, as in architecture, the highest peaks we aim for can define the landscapes of our careers and the impact we have on those around us. #LeadershipDevelopment #GrowthMindset #TheShard

🌟Employee Spotlight: Meet Raul Kapadia, Business Development Manager🌟 Raul is always talking to customers and building relationships, so when we finally found him without his phone, we had to grab him for a few fun questions and his responses were too good not to share! From his thoughts on elevator music to what animal represents Halifax Elevators, here’s a little peek into his responses: First off, we asked Raul what he loves most about working at Halifax Elevators, and he didn’t even hesitate: “It’s all about the people!” he said with a smile. “The supportive and vibrant atmosphere, plus the flexibility here, make it such a fantastic place to work.” Then we got a little creative—if Raul were an elevator, what would his elevator music be? Without missing a beat, he answered, “Saxophone tunes, hands down. Especially George Michael’s Careless Whisper. Smooth and timeless!” Curious about what keeps him motivated in his role, we asked about the most rewarding part of his job. “Tackling challenges as a team,” he shared. “Working toward the same goals and seeing how everyone’s contribution matters—it makes overcoming those challenges so satisfying.” And to wrap things up, we asked Raul if Halifax Elevators had a spirit animal, what would it be? He didn’t even pause: “An eagle,” he said. “They symbolise determination and courage. Every complex job we handle feels like a win, and we celebrate each one together. 🦅” Stay tuned for our regular employee features! #MelbourneConstruction #MelbourneBuilders #VICConstruction #MelbourneDesign #MelbourneArchitecture #MelbourneDevelopers #buildingmelbourne #HalifaxElevators #lifts

On March 28th, SL Green Chairman and CEO Marc Holliday joined Commercial Observer for the Future of New York Forum at 5 Times Square. Here are a few key takeaways from the keynote interview on why we believe in #NYC. ✔️Challenging markets create new opportunities, as seen in the recent trend favoring purchasing over long-term leasing. Prada at 724 Fifth Avenue, Dyson on Madison Avenue and in SoHo, Sotheby’s at The Breuer Building, and Memorial Sloan Kettering at 885 Third Avenue exemplify this trend, signaling a strong vote of confidence in New York. ✔️Elevated amenities are here to stay and activating these spaces is about bringing what tenants love into their workday: fine dining, fitness, conference space, art, and green space. The amenity programs at 5 Times Square, 245 Park and One Madison Avenue highlight how we are responding to that. ✔️It all starts with New York City’s world-class workforce. The city benefits from having one of the most diverse and dynamic talent pools in the world and that’s why companies want to be here. #SLGreen #COFutureofNY #CommercialRealEstate #CRE #NYCRealEstate
