New Post: Champion Duo Hail Growth of Women’s Golf - https://lnkd.in/g2wi8rgs, Saudi Arabia: Past champions reflect on the significant impact of tournaments like the Aramco Saudi Ladies International in driving the global growth of women’s golf. Georgia Hall spoke on the impact of the Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented by PIF on women and girls. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Five years after competing in Saudi Arabia’s first professional women’s golf event, Georgia Hall and Emily Pedersen arrive at Riyadh Golf Club as past champions for the 2024 Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented by PIF. Reflecting on the significant impact of tournaments like the Aramco Saudi Ladies International in driving the global growth of women’s golf, the duo have highlighted the sport’s evolution and the expanding opportunities for female athletes. Across the last five years of development of women’s golf in the Kingdom, England’s Hall has seen first-hand the immediate impact that has been made on local women and girls. “I’m massively into helping youngsters and women to get into golf, it’s what is needed to help grow the game. I’ve already met a few women amateurs that have taken up golf again since this tournament has been on and we were lucky enough to play with a couple of them in the Pro-Ams the last few years. “The more that women can get into golf in general, the better. I think it’s great that countries have us here and to be competing at such a great tournament with a big prize fund, has definitely improved and it’s great to see.” Last year, the Aramco Saudi Ladies International made history as the first golf tournament to achieve prize fund parity, increasing the purse five-fold to US$5 million to match the men’s PIF Saudi International. Pedersen, the 2020 champion, echoed that increased global exposure through investment in events across multiple continents is the key ingredient in growing women’s golf. “It’s important to show your face in a lot of different countries and the more you play in in America, Asia, here, and different places in Europe, it helps grow the game everywhere. “It’s good to be seen as a player that is playing globally and then hopefully, the better you play, the more you show up to the different events, that’s going to inspire people to maybe turn pro or maybe go out there and travel to different places in the world to play golf.” Both Hall and Pedersen know what it takes to win on the big stages, from the Solheim Cup to Saudi Arabia, their heroics continue to inspire the next generation of female golfers in the Kingdom and beyond. At the 2020 Aramco Saudi Ladies International, the Dane had to shake off Hall as the tournament went down to the wire in a nail-biting play-off. Pedersen’s birdie on the first extra hole was enough for her to take the first Aramco Saudi Ladies Inte

We are about to have another shake up in pro golf with the upcoming announcement of the Strategic Sports Group investing in the newly created PGA Tour Enterprises. Looking back, it looks like we are potentially at the exact middle point in the disruption timeline with certainly better days ahead 2009 - European Tour has to cut down Race To Dubai Prize Fund Two years after announcing a break through newly created end of the year super tournament, Prize had to be cut down due to the economic downturn 2011 - LPGA hit by a hard downturn The LPGA staged 27 events in 2011 with total purses of $44.2 million, compared with 37 events in 2008 that offered a total $63.2 million in purses. 2014 Golf World stops its printed publication 2016 Nike stops manufacturing golf clubs 2017 - LET is on the brink of collapsing That year The Ladies European Masters, scheduled to take place in Germany in September with a prize fund of €500,000, became the latest event to be cancelled following the Turkish Ladies Open, Czech Open, Buick Championship and another event due to be held in Italy. 2017 Golf Magazine is sold by Times Inc. 2019 Golf Digest is sold by Conde Nast 2020 - Golf Channel moves out of Orlando 2021 - LIV Golf Investment is created 2022 - Discovery shuts down GolfTV After a breakthrough deal with the PGA Tour, another one with Tiger Woods and finally the acquisition of Golf Digest, Discovery is giving up on its Golf Platform dreams. It's not just the Pro Golf tours that were disrupted, the entire pro golf value chain has been under pressure for more than a decade. That's why I'm so excited about the SSG/PGA Tour deal. SSG is an incredible club of some of the best financial minds in sports, you have to believe new ideas and better models will emerge. In a way, pro golf has been put in a position where suddenly it's much easier to be bold and innovative, unlike many other and less disrupted sports and media properties.

New Post: Season-Ending Switch for Saudi Showpiece - https://lnkd.in/g52VEuiR, Saudi Arabia: The US$5 million PIF Saudi International will move into the season-ending position for both the Asian Tour and The International Series. Riyadh Golf Club will stage the season-ending PIF Saudi International, powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, in December. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The US$5 million PIF Saudi International, powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, will move into the coveted season-ending position for both the Asian Tour and The International Series. To take place from December 4-7, the tournament will make its debut at Riyadh Golf Club after five successful years at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City. “We are delighted to be taking this prestigious event to Riyadh Golf Club. Securing this key date and being positioned as the finale to the Asian Tour and The International Series adds to the significance of the PIF Saudi International, powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, as we see it grow in stature with each edition,” said Noah Alireza, CEO at Golf Saudi, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation. Opened in 2005, Riyadh Golf Club is the capital’s premier golf course. Its par-72 layout is set across 7,434-yards of undulating fairways and has played host to many of the Kingdom’s leading tournaments, including the Saudi Open presented by PIF, the Aramco Team Series Riyadh, and the Aramco Saudi Ladies International. The first players to be confirmed for the December event are defending champion Abraham Ancer, 2022 champion Harold Varner III, winner in 2019 and 2021 Dustin Johnson, and 2022 Open champion Cameron Smith. Smith, who finished runner up to Mexican Ancer in 2023, said: “I am really looking forward to visiting Riyadh for the first time. From what I have read, there is so much going on there with some great sports facilities for grass-roots and professionals being put in place. “We have also heard lots of good things about the championship course at Riyadh Golf Club. Looking at the design and reputation of the course, I reckon it is going to provide us with a real test as we try to stay both out of the water and out in front of what will be another world-class field at the PIF Saudi International.” For the first time this year, the PIF Saudi International will finish on the Saturday in order to align with the final two days with the weekend in the Kingdom as players take aim at the US$1 million first prize and what is considered the most prestigious title on the Asian Tour. The tournament is the last of 10 elevated events on the Asian Tour calendar that offer a direct pathway for players from all over the world onto the LIV Golf League. The champion of the season-ending International Series Rankings will secure a spot on the 2025 LIV Golf League roster. In 2

Yin Ruoning will make her Aramco team Series debut in Shenzhen next month. Picture by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images. Shenzhen, China: China’s top talents will lock horns with LPGA Tour stars at this season’s Golf Saudi and China Golf Association (CGA) organised Aramco Team Series presented by PIF. Headlining the event at Mission Hills Resort Shenzhen from October 4-6 will be Yin Ruoning, Lin Xiyu, Alison Lee, Muni He and Angel Yin. At the age of 21, world number five Yin Ruoning, China’s top golfer, already boasts a remarkable career. With a Major title win at the 2023 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the record for most consecutive wins on the China LPGA Tour, Yin is a force to be reckoned with. Fresh from her victory at the Dow Championship, where she teamed up with Thailand’s Atthaya Thitkul, Yin is eager to compete in another team event, especially in front of a home crowd. “I’ve heard a lot about the Aramco Team Series from other players on Tour who say how much fun it is to play as part of a team,” said Yin. “It’s a unique event, and after enjoying the team format at the Dow Championship, I’m excited to debut in this series. I can’t wait to play before a home crowd and feed off their energy.” Joining Yin in the starting line-up will be Lin Xiyu, bronze medallist at August’s Paris Olympics. She returns as the defending champion. After the final day of the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Hong Kong was called off due to bad weather last year, Lin triumphed in a play-off against Ko Jin-young. Now, Lin is looking for her first win since that event and hopes to leverage her experience to defend her title. Lin said: “Playing in Hong Kong last year was a great experience, even with the shortened tournament due to the rain. I’m hoping we’ll get to play all three days this time around! “Returning as the defending individual champion, I always strive to do my best. Still, I’m especially excited to see such a high-calibre tournament being brought to mainland China and the talented field it attracts.” Organised by Golf Saudi, the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF contributes an annual prize fund of US$5 million to the Ladies European Tour (LET), bringing its unique and exciting team format to players and fans across three continents throughout the year. This Shenzhen edition, organised in partnership with the CGA, marks the fourth stop in the 2024 series, and will bring together 28 teams of three professionals and one amateur to compete in a team competition over two days. You might not believe it, but mini golf is essential to the health and growth of the golf industry. Three words - routes to entry. Golf is famously one of those sports that has had some of the most dedicated gatekeepers of any sport, even of any industry. In the distant past, the only real way in was through invitation or sheer determination to be involved with the sport. Now, with Golf Australia reporting that over 200,000 more people are playing 'off course' golf (mini golf, driving ranges and indoor golf) than 'on course', it's clear that having more diverse routes to entry is of a net benefit to the industry. People are inherently novelty seeking! It's why people tend to progress through the different offerings that an industry has. It's also why Hey Caddy is the perfect pair with X-Golf Group. If people can get enjoyment from mini golf, chances are they'll be keen to try adjacent forms of it, be it more off course play like X-Golf simulators or on-course play. By creating more ways for people to engage in golf and removing barriers to entry, we are creating an even bigger, better and bolder industry that is seeing growth like never before. It might be mini, but its certainly still golf!

Golf is the 2nd most expensive popular sport in the world, behind equestrianism. A big part of that is due to the price of equipment. As a golf teacher myself, I often get asked the question what to buy and where. I recommend to beginners to start with second-hand golf clubs, but for players (like you maybe?) who have reached a milestone in their game and want to treat themselves to a new set of irons without breaking the bank, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) golf clubs may be the best option. You may have seen some DTC golf brands appear on YouTube lately or in the bags of tour pros such as Wesley Bryan or the legendary John Daly. DTC Golf equipment manufacturers are gaining traction thanks to their affordable prices (half the price of traditional retail brands the likes of Taylormade), but also thanks to the high-quality level that has nothing to envy the best known brands. Takomo Golf, Sub 70 Golf, Caley let’s look at three of the best DTC golf brands out there that are making affordable high-quality iron sets. #golf #dtc #takomo #sub70 #caley #golfbrands #golfclubs

People often ask if we're competing with golf courses... Our answer? It's actually the exact opposite. The golfing industry is like an ecosystem. Within any ecosystem there is competition, but also symbiosis and harmony. Indoor and outdoor golf don't detract from each other, they enrich the golfing industry. Our company was founded from a deep, abiding love for the game of golf. Most of our staff across Australia and New Zealand are golfers, and we spend as much time hitting outdoors as we do on our simulators. The reason for this symbiosis is that while the experience of playing indoors versus outdoors might be extremely different, the core of both experiences can be described in one phrase, "golf is really, really fun". The bottom line is that both industries benefit each other directly. Outdoor and indoor golf provide experiences that the other can't, directly benefitting the most important people in the industry: the golfers themselves. The same can also be said for Hey Caddy, our mini golf brand, which makes golfing more accessible than ever before by bringing a fun, light and social form of golf to the table. Don't have time for 18 holes on a course? Join us at X-Golf. Been nailing your swing form on the simulators? Put it to test on your local course. Overall having both options has more people playing golf. This Golf Australia article sums it up perfectly: “Whether you’re a social golfer, long-time member, weekly comp player, putt-putt specialist, driving range regular or simulator lover – you contribute to our golfing community and the health of our game” #xgolf #golfindustry #indoorgolf #golfaustralia #harmony
