The Jacksonville Jaguars' "Stadium of the Future" is a go, as the franchise and city approved an agreement on a $1.4 billion project that will keep the Jaguars in Jacksonville for "decades to come." The proposal will see each side contribute $625 million to the project and Jacksonville would chip in another $150 million to get EverBank Stadium ready for construction beginning in 2026. The team will also not include any new taxes to pay for the rebuild. Read the full article on CBS Sports at https://lnkd.in/e7DNmCBT. Watch the Build! Or rather, watch the 'removal' of one of the massive bronze doors at the State Capitol recently. In 5 minutes-you can see how our extensive removal planning process provides a safe take down of these beautiful, but extremely heavy doors for their upcoming restoration. We were the only General Contractors willing to take on this intimidating and herculean project, but Prost Builders has three quarters of a century of experience in problem-solving any issues that come up. As one of the largest Design-Build companies in Missouri-we're also the 'go-to' historic property restoration experts focused on preserving our Missouri history and building quality construction that lasts for our satisfied clients since 1949. #prostbuilders #proconstructionsdve #nawic #wic #mostatecapitol #wearejcmo #jcmo #historicrestoration #historicpreservation #construction #bronzedoors #designbuild #designbuildfirm #presidentvaughnprost #qualityconstructioncompany #constructionlife #como #columbiamo #generalcontractors

Add 100 Forge to the arsenal. Tucked in the woodland along the Charles River and the edge of Arsenal Yards, 100 Forge is the first purpose-built lab building in Watertown, MA. The building itself, a 165,600 square foot and 130 foot tall mid-rise, is a 50/50 split of office space and laboratories dedicated to life sciences and biotechnology. The first floor is designed for efficient back-of-house laboratory infrastructure, while the offices above have floor-to-ceiling glass and numerous decks and patios. Views look out to the Boston and Cambride skylines, as well as the pleasant Arsenal Yards community park. The building’s name, like most development within the confines of Arsenal Yards, alludes to the area’s military-industrial past. A little over 200 years ago, the area was established as Watertown Arsenal, a hub for manufacturing, storing and distributing ordinance for the United States Army. The site has been registered by the American Society of Civil Engineers as a Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, while also being named on the US National Register of Historic Places. The area has undergone vast redevelopment since it ceased arsenal operations in 1968. In recent memory, the area was the grounds for the Arsenal Marketplace mall. In 2013 the area had been purchased by Boylston Properties (along with The Wilder Companies) to convert the site into a mixed-use neighborhood of live-work-play and visit, titled The Arsenal Project. Plans were approved in 2016 and Arsenal Yards became open to the public in 2019. Now, with 100 Forge and a handful of other life-science focused construction that has steadily been completed the past few years, Arsenal Yards is beginning to be known as a new type of hub. CELEBRATING 25 YEARS: ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE AWARD 2013, ENGINEERS AUSTRALIA NEWCASTLE DIVISION As we continue to celebrate 25 years of Delaney Civil, we are looking back on our achievements over the last 25 years. One of our proudest is the Engineering Excellence Award we won in 2013 for the Engineers Australia Newcastle Division. Delaney Civil won this award for our work on the Duffs and Marlee Bridge Replacements project. This project involved the replacement of two timber truss bridges over Dingo Creek, along with roadworks on Bulga Road for the bridge approaches. The two bridges are located approximately 7km northwest of Wingham, on the NSW Mid North Coast. Each bridge replacement took place within a 10-day closure period, with Duffs Bridge actually being reopened on the 7th day of the planned 10-day closure. The innovative design solutions that Delaney Civil implemented on this project include: - Development of identical designs of the two bridges, presenting a significant cost saving - Using variable-sized culvert spans which catered for the difference in bridge length and hydrology requirements - The use of prestressed concrete planks with transverse post tension bars, which do not require an in-situ deck – meaning they are trafficable immediately and reduce closure times It was these innovative design solutions and construction approaches that led to Delaney Civil winning the Engineering Excellence Award for this project! #delaneycivil #constructionindustry #25years #EngineersAustralia #EngineeringExcellence #Award #Bridges

The joys of archaic construction..... This was a few years ago, but I think the solution here was to treat this akin to FC1166 with 3000WT since it was going to live under an apartment sink chase. The obvious deviation being brick, old growth timber and the opening size not adhering to the system parameters. #3M #firestop #firestopping #firesafety #lifesafety #continuingeducation #constructioneducation #construction #buildinginnovation #buildbetter #buildsmart #passivefireprotection #codeenforcement #buildingcodes #firemarshal #buildinginspections #contractoreducation #constructionmaterials #buildingmaterials #kcmo #inspectors #codesinspectors #firemashals

A tilting bridge? Why not! Officially inaugurated in 2001, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge is the world's first and only tilting bridge and allows the connection between the shores of Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, in the north of England The structure, designed by WilkinsonEyre in collaboration with GIFFORD AND PARTNERS LTD, covers a total of 126 metres along the Tyne River and is reserved exclusively for pedestrians and bicycles. The main peculiarities of this masterpiece of engineering lie both in form and operation. The bridge consists of two rigidly joined steel parabolic arches that converge on a transverse cylindrical structure: one arch is intended for pedestrian passage and the cycle path for crossing, the other acts as a support and thins in the central part providing support for the path through 6-metre long steel cables. The entire structure is characterised by a weight of over 800 tons. Dive into the intricacies of Derwent Court's structural marvel in this latest post! Join us as we explore the backbone of our current conversion project, Derwent Court, constructed with pre-cast slabs and beams. These concrete planks, constructed with a web of steel rods running throughout, were manufactured offsite and transported for assembly, maintaining the structure’s strength and durability of their construction is paramount, as any damage can compromise their integrity. Careful consideration, especially when integrating drainage for internal services, requires skill and precision when cutting through these essential components. Great collaboration among West Virginia University, WVDOT, and the steel industry, bringing innovation for Critical Infrastructure that can be applied not only for these two bridge replacements in WV, but others, “The students’ work will benefit residents of West Virginia as well as other states where their work will impact practice.” Kinnami is collaborating on a project for “Data Infrastructure for Critical Infrastructure” with the University of Nebraska and the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center. The focus of Phase 1 of this project was to build a resilient data fabric that could securely collect, analyze and share sensor data collected from bridges in real-time. Phase 2, completed in 2023, featured a limited deployment on both public and private bridges in Nebraska and New Hampshire for real-time monitoring and structural health analysis. This phase established best practices for integrating tools and sharing information across public and private entities. Phase 3 is currently underway and Kinnami aims to expand our software capabilities in a number of areas: #scalability supporting #AdvancedAnalytics #UserFriendlyTools #ResilientData
Benjamin Opie was part of a cohort of students researching solutions for replacing two Morgantown bridges in subpar condition, including the Scotts Run bridge located on Lazzelle Union Road.
