Here's how to set your fair or event apart from all the rest

Planning event experiences has always been my jam, but there is NO event quite like the Minnesota State Fair. This document captures it all: the attention to detail, the reality of giant masses of people gathering in one place, and the pure joy when it all goes to plan!

Like any event, a fair has a lot of moving parts. The first step to building a successful fair is to look at things through the guests eyes; what do they want to do, what do they want to see and what will be important to them. For example, many fair goers are family's and regardless of whether they are coming for a rodeo event or the rides and games, a smooth transition is going to be important. What does this information tell us? That we need to be conscious of narrow areas that could bottleneck crowds, we need to ensure lines don't move into traffic areas and that opportunities for photos or other engagements can be positioned to break up the routine of walk and waiting...
