“It’s easier to find a job, when you have a job.” Being on the hunt for a new job is tough going, especially in the current market and even more so if you’re currently out of work. Now I thought, surely this statement can’t be true. If I’m out of work, I’ve got plenty of time to be prepping for interviews, updating my portfolio and actually attending interviews. Which should make the process easier, right? Wrong. Because whilst you’re out of work, you’re always going to be worried about where your next pay check is coming from. And if you’re like me, you jump straight to doomsday scenarios, like having to move back into your childhood box room eating cheerios for tea after watching binge watching Holiday Homes in the Sun…. So, it’s okay if you need to take a temporary role, or pick up freelance work to keep you going. It took me 7 months, countless interviews and applications to find my new role. During that time, I had a period of garden leave, I took a step into a different role and even did some freelance work. I’m now 3 weeks into my new role and I know it was worth the wait (cheesy, I know). Because people can question your career gap, but if they judge it - well, maybe you don’t want to work for them anyway. Do what’s right for you, and the rest will come.

If you are making a post for job offers, here are the 5 things you should be including: 1. Work place option - WFH, HB, or IO? It should be mentioned. 2. Salary range - I know it’s hard because…pay factors, but at least something to guage for potential future employees 3. The job title - I am shocked I have to say this, but I have seen at least 5 posts with no job title this week. 4. Location - I feel like this also should go without saying… but again multiple posts with no location listed… 5. Point of contact - Should we contact you? Should we contact someone else? Should we go directly to a website? Hopefully this reaches who it needs to reach.

“Competitive Pay” is when a company is willing to work with you to gain you as an employee and is willing to match or pay more than what other companies in the same industry are paying. If your company is set on a salary/hourly pay for all employees and will not budge on the amount, that is NOT “competitive pay.” Make sure you are getting what you deserve and don't settle for less. #CompetitivePay #JobSearchTips **To any recruiters or hiring managers reading this, please reach out to me if you have a job opportunity available. As an author, life and health insurance agent, and holistic well-being advocate, I empower individuals to embrace their true selves, secure their financial and health futures, and create fulfilling lives.
#DontPlayGames You so correct. It's challenging for a job seeker to compare salaries from several job postings when employers use a salary range. What's even more interesting is when employers ask for a desired salary. How do you handle this situation?
Put salaries on job descriptions. Don't give ranges like $50,000 ~ $250,000. It doesn't help the recruiters and job seekers – ESPECIALLY the job seekers. Recruiters are PAID to find a job. Job seekers often can't spend 40 hours a week looking for a job (And if you need help finding a job? https://bit.ly/37Aj5FI). Don't play games – we all want the same thing.
