This is EVERY cannabis industry conference going on in 2024. → Share it → Save it → Print it I've stepped up my presence at cannabis events this past year. I'm becoming something of a fixture at Benzinga's Cannabis Capital Conference and Hall of Flowers these days.... Nothing gets me more excited about this industry than getting together with you all and learning about your businesses. And with there FINALLY being some Federal movement I expect these shows to have a few less dark clouds looming over us. I'm sure I missed some in here so please drop them in the comments. Let me know what you're planning to hit this year. Repost ♻️ to your community to keep them in the know.

Why are there never articles with headlines like "Colorado Cannabis businesses that focused on fundamentals are thriving"? Simply put, scary headlines sell. This one from Politico is no different. As someone who has lived the Colorado market I can tell you no one is surprised by this. Why? Supply and demand. Econ 101. Oversupply. Cash injection in a new market eclipsing it's size. Expansion plans dependant on new (federal) markets opening up. Pandemic market bubble. Being the first rec market in the world, there were A LOT of green rushers. Nearly everyone wanted to be the biggest. Open 20+ dispensaries. Ink international deals. No market has exponential growth forever though. There were a handful of big wins. But most domination plans were destined to fail. These grab headlines. Of course there are plenty of other business that focused on sustainable sales, COGS, and margins and have thrived. They don't create drama, so they don't grab headlines. Learn a lesson from the oldest Cannabis market: It is not all doom and gloom. Know your market and you can be successful. If you go big too fast have a plan to fail big. Thoughts? Link to full article in comments
