Two weeks ago we walked into our office and discovered that we had run out of space. We got creative and re-arranged things so we could squeeze the whole team in. Bad planning aside, it was a reminder of two important things: 1. As a start-up we constantly feel like things are going too slowly. We're always looking to speed up, get our products built faster, make more sales and build our team. Then suddenly one day you realise things are, in fact moving very quickly, and those new customers and employees show up! Sometimes it's worth stopping for a moment to reflect on what we've built so far, before diving into the next thing! 2. More and more our teams want to be together in the office. It was a big adjustment when we put in our 2-day in-office policy, but now the office is choc-a-block most days. We love learning new things, and increasingly, we're realising that being in the same room makes that much quicker. Watch this space for a new Jem office very soon!

Looking back on where our international story started: our London office journey. Starting in 2015, one of our goals has always been to establish a meaningful presence beyond our Italian headquarters, starting from London, and grow a pan-European presence. By 2016, we started small — a single desk — before moving into a dedicated office space in 2019. Over the years, the London office has grown into a mature, well-established hub. Along the way, we’ve built a culture we’re proud of: pre-COVID, the team developed rituals that shaped the office culture, from appreciation notes to Friday post-work activities. While the pandemic paused some traditions, the team came back stronger, fostering connections over shared meals, social events, and collaborative work both in the office and on client sites. From those early days to where we are now, we have grown a lot — the London office is now our largest! We can’t wait to see what’s next 🚀 #LondonOffice #TeamCulture #GrowthJourney #LookingBack #Onward

😂 THERE ISN’T ROOM FOR ME at the office! I started a company and now there isn’t room for me to work at HQ. We’ve onboarded 4 new staff since September and my office is needed for 1:1 meetings on a Monday. So every Monday morning I now work off-site. Pretty nuts eh? I’m embracing the madness though. Two things on this: 1. We have a solution lined up. An office expansion from March. We look forward to showcasing our new office soon. 2. Every challenge is an opportunity. Working off-site each Monday has given me opportunity for deep work with no distractions. Our Head Office team started out as three people and has now developed into a squad of ten. The team has almost doubled in size since September and this is brought about it’s challenges. Growing so quickly has put a strain on our office environment, but this is brought about a wonderful opportunity too. A big open plan space is on the horizon, with a meeting room studio and private offices all on-site. If we want to become the best in the world or what we do, we’re gonna need the environment to achieve that in. So for now, I will work off site, I’ll pitch up in a coffee shop when needed and we’ll make do for a period until we can take our next step. All part of the final of running a growing business I guess! #BusinessGrowth #OfficeExpansion

As the proverb goes, 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,' and this holds true not just for individuals, but for workplaces as well. Workplaces lacking opportunities or amenities to unwind can quickly become dull and uninspiring. So, what exactly is a third space at work? Is it just about food, or is there more to it? Find the answers to these questions and more in our latest blog. Click the link below 👇 to read on! https://lnkd.in/gMEyKCQx

We become smarter if we feel safe in the office! 🧠 The amygdala is triggered if we don't perceive the office as a safe and pleasant place, causing us to instinctively want to leave — pure survival instinct I guess. 🙌 On the other hand, if the office feels safe, we tend to relax and open up for collaboration. How do you create a safe office? 🙋🏼♀️ I know how to accomplish that! I’ll leave the creation of a great company culture to you. Teamwork 👊🏻 #officedesignmatters #futureofoffice
