Micrometers and types, in your safety briefing did you cover how to read them. Micrometer Maintenance and Tips: Clean the micrometer before and after use, taking care not to damage the measuring faces. Calibrate the micrometer when necessary using an adjusting wrench to ensure accurate measurements. Store the micrometer in an environment free of heat, dust, humidity, oil, and mist. Be careful not to drop or bump the micrometer on anything. Do not rotate the micrometer thimble using excessive force. If you believe a micrometer may have been damaged due to accidental mishandling, ensure that it is inspected for accuracy before further use.
