It's a BIG welcome back this morning to a few members of the Stonehaven team who have been out and about on the campaign trail as part of the UK General Election. Our colleagues took time off to support various parties and have returned with some great photos and a few stories. Stonehaven's MRP modelling projections were the closest to the actual result but hats off to those actually on the ground campaigning throughout the election period and taking part in democracy. Our thoughts on the manifestos with an interactive comparison of the headline policies and the details of what they really mean. ❎ With just two weeks left until polling day, the industry is analyzing the manifestos to understand the potential impact on ongoing projects and investment decisions. 📊 Pollsters and pundits agree on the likely outcome but forecasting has been wrong before and estimating the size of a majority (crucial for driving policy change) is difficult. 🏛️ Economic concerns loom large and limit the fiscal flexibility for new governments. 🏗️ For the planning and development sector, sentiment remains subdued with record-low residential permissions and setbacks in local plan-making post-December 2023 NPPF changes. 🔍 Despite these challenges, there are positive signals: manifestos from the main parties emphasize stability and certainty. All parties pledge to boost homebuilding, with proposals for brownfield-first development and streamlined urban planning. 🌍 Beyond housing, there's consensus on supporting for economic growth outside the South East, reforming NSIP processes for renewable energy expansion, and enhancing biodiversity net gain. However, implementation methods vary. 🔑 Key differences emerge among parties on 'Grey Belt' land net zero and the NPPF. 🔍 Our interactive comparison details each party's policy ambitions and strategies. Visit Lichfields' website for in-depth analysis on critical planning and development issues leading up to the election. Jennie Baker Paddy Hynes Daniel Orford

This is an open question after we complete work on our initial product in the coming days: How do we sponsor local and state policies? We decided to put our energy into federal bills to get things moving with the beta. Now that we’re almost ready to start delivering regular content and live updates/notifications, we want feedback on which policies are most relevant. Meanwhile, greetings from the front lines of the election: Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, where this picture was taken today. #BuildingWithThePublic - Day 97
