Is Sticking to One Animation Tool Holding You Back? I worked on a Clash Royale promo where the production decided to use TV Paint, which excels in traditional 2D animation but lacks some features. While TV Paint is fantastic for traditional techniques, I found that using Toon Boom Harmony for this particular shot would have been a better fit. Harmony would have allowed me to rig the barrels to any angle and add in-betweens for the slow-mo effect more effectively. Sometimes, a different software can be the key to solving specific problems. The right tool can make a big difference in achieving the quality and efficiency you need. What tools from other software have improved your workflow? Watch so you are aware of the issues in the industry. Not to discourage but to be equipped. Animation has always been a business and companies will try to make as much money as possible. Even since Disney 1st started. But there was unions and limitations to the technology and skillsets back in the day. Now with globalization and companies chasing subsidies all around the world, companies will try to make as much money as possible with the lowest expenditure. On the same note, the gatekeepers no longer weld the same power and you can reach and create your own audience. AI will make animation easier. But in the end its still a tool. You still need the ability to create and tell stories with these tools. And hopefully be sustainable as a franchise builder with consumer product generator, as Eric put it. The insane challenge is the how while still making a living.

Will GenAI open the doors for low skilled / low paid labour to take on production as part of strategy to maximise ROI and recover investment losses? How is Acting & Animation made? This breakdown will show you. Aside from character animation in Adobe Animate, this project was one of the first animation where I have used both After Effects and Photoshop as well. After Effects has been used for compositing, create a fake depth of field and adding a vignette and colour grading. All still assets in this animation are made in Photoshop.
