❗❗💜 My heart just breaks when I hear about animals in these situations. This one is close to where I live so it would mean A LOT to me if you could donate. Even $5 would help! 💜 ❗❗ Time is running out. We are so close to intake day. Katy's Kritters Safe Haven is very small. This is the biggest under taking we have ever attempted. When we realized no one else had the capacity or the resources to help. We decided we can't ignore there plea for help. We had to make a plan. We couldn't do it with out you. Recap: Katy's Kritters Safe Haven has been asked to help a caretaker find immediate placement for 25 indoor cats at one residence. We will be rescuing the first 11 to 15 cats on August 7th. Most if not all of these are pregnant moms, moms with nursing kittens or kittens (under 1 year). These cats have had no vetting. Multiple community members have reached out asking how they can support our efforts. We had a total of 3 people willing to be foster homes for these cats. They have bravely stepped up. We have a 4th that has applied. This is not an easy task. Currently fosters have agreed to pay for there own supplies. We want to reach out to the community one last time to raise supplies to care for the large number of cats and kittens that will be in our care soon. This will help provide relief to foster homes. Our biggest needs right now are Canned kitten food, dry kitten food and non clumping litter. Based on how many kitten supplies get donated, it will directly affect how many mom's with litters and kittens we can pull on August 7th. Why 'Prakriti' and 'Karma'? It starts with the story that laid the foundation of our care for stray animals 15 years ago! Back in the day, we (The Sinha family) brought home a rabbit and named her Tuktuk. We were absolutely in love with her. Months flew by. One day, when the door was mistakenly left open, three stray dogs entered our home, chasing and scaring Tuktuk. She didn’t survive the trauma, the incident left us shattered. Pain, shock, and trauma built up. We were distraught with the dogs. But soon we realized that everything, EVERYTHING, happens for a reason. Before Tuktuk, we had never paid such close attention to stray dogs. With time, we understood that 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬—𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 (𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢) 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. The close relation in which Nature (Prakriti) and the fruits associated with our actions/ interactions (Karma) work together, perfectly sums up the essence of life. Flora, Fauna, natural resources, geographies, etc are part of nature, and the ways we interact with them lead to our fate. Destroy flora, for whatever cause, bear rising temperatures. Destroy wildlife, bear extinction. These are just a few specific cases, but they help us understand the sentiment. I have a son and a daughter, both members of generation Z. When they were younger, my wife and I would give them an allowance. We made them split their allowance into three buckets: savings, spending and charity. Savings they got back when they turned 18, spending can be used as they desired and charity got donated to the nonprofit of their choice. My kids normally saved up their charity dollars all year and made an end-of-the-year gift. Their gifts, and our experience in making those gifts online, inspired me to write this blog article. We’ve encountered a lot of poignant stories that inspired client’s legacy planning strategies. 💓 Ronald MacDonald House support became a vital part of a family's legacy after their baby was born with a hole in their heart. 💓 Another family honours their child who died from suicide by backing accessible mental health services for young individuals. 💓 For some, it's about combating animal cruelty via support for the Humane Society. 💓 As for me, having navigated the cancer journey with my mother, I aim to expand cancer support services in my small community of Lyndhurst. These personal narratives aren't just chapters of our lives — they're catalysts that drive us to make a tangible difference. While offering my services in emails, I thought about something. It is important not to show how experienced and successful you are, but rather to show your usefulness as an expert, but at the same time it is important to show humanity. I have a small collection of postage stamps, recently I added some more from a family friend. These envelopes often carry a powerful message, combining philately with advocacy. I was thinking about stamps on return envelopes, many nonprofit organizations use postage stamps on return envelopes to encourage successful donation responses. Seems that those with actual stamps tend to yield higher response rates. Envelopes from animal rights organizations can be particularly interesting due to their thematic content and advocacy motivating messages. #networking

It’s tough to fully explain just how cool and unprecedented this is 🤯 I’m so grateful that Karin Kirchoff brought the idea of a Nonprofit DAF Benchmark study to us in the fall - it’s been a big undertaking for both of us, but incredibly worthwhile 💞 Thanks to the 21 participants, we have accumulated a treasure trove of data from organizations with a broad range of size, cause area and geographic focus 🤩 This data represents the first time anyone has systematically looked at historical Donor Advised Fund activity from the perspective of the MOST important stakeholder in this ecosystem - the nonprofits delivering the impact! 👏🏼 In this study, we are analyzing 5-10 years of ALL historical individual giving - both DAF gifts and non-DAF gifts - to better understand: 1️⃣ How DAFs are evolving as a component of nonprofit fundraising 📈 2️⃣ How DAF donors behave over time compared with non-DAF donors 💰 3️⃣ What drives success of DAF fundraising 🏆 To adequately answer these kinds of questions, we knew that we’d need a monster set of data 😮 Luckily, these organizations stepped up to prepare and share millions & millions of data points 🌟 Alzheimer’s Assocation American Cancer Society ACLU Best Friends Animal Society Center for Reproductive Rights Central Park Conservancy Defenders of Wildlife Food & Friends Hirshberg Foundation International Rescue Committee Lustgarten Foundation No Kid Hungry, Share our Strength Peta Save the Redwoods League Seeds of Peace Sempervirens Fund Susan G.
