It's National Suicide Prevention Month, and we at StoriBoard would like to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health support. This year’s theme is “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”, with the call to action “Start the Conversation”. It emphasises the importance of collective efforts to address mental health struggles, and to reduce stigma. During this month, and every month, we encourage individuals, communities, and organisations to take proactive steps in supporting those struggling, fostering open conversations, and promoting wellbeing. Suicide is preventable - and every action counts in making a difference and building a more compassionate world, in which no one has to suffer in silence. If you are struggling to find someone to talk to, the StoriBoard app offers peer support from a community of over 20,000 people, connecting people based on shared lived experience. Alternatively, use StoriBoard to connect with a Wellness Coach, trained to use their own lived experience in order to help transform your emotional wellbeing. You are never alone – there is always someone who knows how you feel. #nationalsuicidepreventionmonth #suicideawareness #worldsuicideawareness #storiboard #wellness

🌟 Wellbeing Wednesday: Let's Raise Awareness for Suicide Prevention Month 🌟 This September, let’s come together to shine a light on Suicide Prevention Month. It’s a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind ourselves of the importance of supporting those around us. 🌼 1️⃣ Know the Signs 👀: Understanding the warning signs of someone in distress can be life-saving. Be aware of changes in mood, withdrawal, or drastic behavior shifts, and reach out with empathy. 2️⃣ Share Resources 📞: In the U.S., the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by dialing 988. Sharing this resource widely can provide help to those who need it most, right when they need it. 3️⃣ Build Support Systems 🫱🏽🫲🏾: Creating a culture where mental health is openly discussed, and support is easily accessible can make all the difference. Let’s encourage regular mental health check-ins in both personal and professional spaces. Your outreach could save a life. Together, we can make mental health a priority and break the silence around suicide. 📞 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: 988 Let’s share this resource to spread hope and support. 💛 #WellbeingWednesday #SuicidePreventionMonth #MentalHealthMatters #EmployeeWellbeing #988Lifeline #SupportEachOther #EndTheStigma #WorkplaceWellness #TrustAndSafety #TogetherWeCan

Sometimes the hardest words to say are the most important... This year's suicide prevention day campaign aims to end the stigma of suicide by highlighting that 1 in 5 of us will struggle with suicidal thoughts in our lifetime. Did you know that only 45% of people are comfortable talking about suicidal thoughts? It's time we change that. How can you ensure your workplace is set up to support Mental Health? Do you have any of the following set up at your place of work? - Wellness policy in place - Buddy system - Signposts to support - In-house wellness champions/advocates - Company encouragement to educate all about mental health issues, especially suicidal thoughts. Building support systems and starting conversations can foster an open and accepting culture. Let's work together to make talking about mental health more comfortable and support those in need. #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealthSupport #EndTheStigma https://lnkd.in/eH9HQb-7
