As I progress through my career search in this competitive industry, I cannot help but compare myself to other applicants. In many ways, it's encouraging to try harder, learn more. But more recently, I have noticed something that seems to be giving people an unfair advantage, maybe some of you have heard of this, "Proxy technical interview support"... For those unfamiliar, it's basically paying another person to connect to your computer and take a technical interview for you, whether be remote access for coding interviews, or writing live responses. Sometimes even selling AI software to do the work... Almost weekly, I have messages in my inbox with someone offering this service. I feel like this is really tainting the waters. It's also concerning is that many of those offering such services seem to have impressive resumes and even work for well established recruiting firms, yet they engage in such an unethical practice. Employeers: I'm sure you are aware of this... but my question is... what is being done to deter this? Is there software being developed to detect such a thing? How can we fight back against such fraudulent practices?

Legal question on recruitment: I applied for a role that is a good fit for my skills & experience. We had a good interview and the recruiter was going to place me with the client. The recruiter now requires me to create a video with my personal background & relevant job experience. I have never been asked to do this before so I am curious if this is now common practise? I have refused to provide this on the basis that I do not trust the recruiter to store this type of personal data. In an age of AI this seems like an unreasonable security risk. The recruiter would have my personal details from my CV, my visual likeness & my voice data. This might sound paranoid but this is enough to create a digital clone. This requirement is from the recruiter, not the client. The recruiter has said that I cannot proceed without creating the video. This feels unreasonable & unfair. Can recruiters do this?
