𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟖 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬.... 8 years ago (wow, time flies!), long before Context-Coffee | Design-build, I designed "A contained Urban Forest." Now, thanks to one of our newest clients, this project is finally being revived!👇🏾 https://lnkd.in/dzVQyjab We’re experimenting with a different approach: using tempered glass slates over rubber tubing to heat water, an alternative to traditional solar panels. The concept is similar, and we're excited to see how this experimental method plays out. Anyone with experience in this? I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas on how far we can take it! Follow along as we explore new ways to merge sustainability with design. #ProgressNotPerfection #SustainableArchitecture

We spotted a #CEO in the wild! Meet Mattie Mead, the visionary #founder and CEO of Hempitecture, a pioneering force in the #proptech space. #Hempitecture is transforming the built environment by harnessing the power of sustainable, all-natural building products. Their innovative approach not only creates new ways to advance installation but also generates jobs in rural areas of #America (which we love), all while prioritizing the health of our planet through the use of natural fibers like hemp. #MattieMead was spotted at Blueprint: The Future of Real Estate. Hemp + Architecture = #Hempitecture Takeaways #LibertyLesson: 1. Stand Out, Show Up, and Share Your Story! 2. Always Be Prepared to Pitch!- Matthew's passion, clear solutions, and focused vision are exactly what you need to share your story and leave a lasting impact. Are you a #proptech company who is changing how things are traditionally done? Let's connect and innovate! One for the history books and not just the flooring manufacturing history books either. The first ever carbon negative rubber flooring prototype was unveiled at BAU Insights by Interface and nora by Interface. This type of innovation doesn’t happen by accident. It happens through determination, the will to do good, and to show the world it is possible when you focus your attention on efforts on absolute reduction. There are many companies looking to reduce their Scope 3 emissions to achieve their Science Based Targets initiative. Well, look no further. We’re here to help contribute to your goals. Talk to your local Interfacer and explore the long list of carbon negative carpet tile and learn when you can start using carbon negative nora rubber. #AllIn #MadeforMore #scope3 #carbonnegative #interfaceemployee #commercialflooring #FloorThought

What if we could see early stage, built environment, nature based or landscape projects and express interest in collaboration or involvement? We would then be drawn by the project, not by a company, profile or brand .., develop new partnerships, secure contracts, and help make inspiring visions become a reality. We also wouldn’t have to depend on project creators finding us in the wild web .. That’s almost as exiting as the supply chain tools and collaborative processes that can evolve from such a regenerative ecosystem ..! #builtenvironment #property #creators #naturbasedsolutions #biodesign #regenerativedesign #circular #supplychain #collaboration #architecture #landscape #impact

As I travelled back from the launch of RENEW Centre for Regenerative Design and Engineering for a Net Positive World, I was struck by the overlap between what Michael Braungart and William McDonough set out in their 2002 book 'Cradle to Cradle', and what was being discussed at the RENEW research centre. Both advocate for not just 'doing less harm', but 'doing more good'. They target designs that are designed with nature, in ways that leave no trace when we have finished with them. They use both the biosphere and technosphere to engineer with. And they both aspire to create a world where social and environmental sustainability go hand in hand. Congratulations to Juliana Calabria-Holley and the team at RENEW for launching this manifesto and research centre. At The Institution of Structural Engineers one of our sustainability focus areas is #RegenerativeDesign, and so I look forward to being able to work with you to help push our industry in a positive direction! If you haven't yet read RENEW's research manifesto, check it out here: https://lnkd.in/d4xmFJDC If you haven't read Cradle to Cradle, get a copy for less than the price of a coffee here: https://lnkd.in/dn5YmrsB Both fill me with hope, joy and optimism. #regenerativedesign #netzero #sustainability #climatecrisis #biodiversitycrisis
🎬 And it is live! If you didn’t catch your physical copy, check out the online version of our Manifesto for Regenerative Design and Engineering. Read about the RENEW principles that will be shaping the future of our centre, and be inspired by our RENEW imaginarium. It has been quite a journey and we are more than happy to share the result of our efforts. Our manifesto is also regenerative in nature! So this is version one 📕We will RENEW it as needed. 📣Please feel free to share and spread the word! 📣 If you are interested in our work and would like to collaborate or chat, drop us a DM or email the centre directors. More information about the centre can be found in the link below. https://lnkd.in/e-hNVZeN #renew #regenerativedesign #netpositive #bathuni #designengineering #netpositive #sustainability Sukumar Natarajan Juliana Calabria-Holley Emma Emanuelsson - Patterson

🎉📚 Lunch Break Discovery! 🎉📚 👀 Spotted in IStruct E Magazine's April Issue: "A Concrete Answer for Circular Construction: Three Prototypes Reusing Saw-Cut Elements" 🚀🌍 Think about this: Old concrete = New Opportunities! Instead of wasting it, we're turning it into awesome new structures. It's like playing Tetris on a massive scale! Why it’s awesome: 1) Eco-Friendly: We’re talking less trash and more treasure. 🌍✨ 2) Innovation Station: These ideas aren't just new—they're revolutionary. 3) Future Goals: This is how we sprint towards those net zero targets! 🧐 What if we reused the concrete rather than crushing it? Think about the potential of repurposing structural materials to enhance sustainability. 🛠️ Could you incorporate any of these solutions in your designs, especially in refurbishment projects? It's time to inject some vintage vibes into modern constructions! 💬 Let's be creative and explore options and techniques! Pushing the envelope on what we can achieve with circular economy principles. 👉 Dive in and don't miss out on this intriguing read! #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #CreativeConstruction #EcoFriendly #LunchtimeGenius #BuildingTheFuture #ConcreteReuse #InnovativeDesign #ConstructionChangeMakers
