Best $5 I ever spent. I stumbled upon this palm sized game of Trouble several years back in the $5 section at a local store. So now, any time we go out to eat, we bring it in the restaurant to play. My family and I are just slightly competitive, so it is a fierce, no-holds-barred competition, where the prize is ultimate bragging rights, and the only thing getting sent home are our game pieces— kicked back to start by our so-called 'loved ones.' And guess what? Not a single screen in sight because we're all too engrossed in plotting each other's downfall. What are some games you bring to a restaurant to engage with each other instead of devices? P.S We left more than a tip one day when our mini version of Battleship somehow launched red and white game pieces under the table, on the chairs, and into the unknown. But that is a story for another time. __________________________ Connections are eroded by tech, I help moms and dads build and maintain life-long relationships with their children. TODAY’S TEACHING: The beliefs and thoughts we have are given birth through the womb of our perceived or acknowledged identity. The reason people struggle to manifest or wrestle to gain control over the fourth dimension of possibility is because they attempt to envision and think through an identity that won’t access that dimension. Positive affirmations and visions are only able to be manifested to the level of the identity that set them in motion. We must first awaken to the I AM (GOD) within us and from that awareness command and shape the fourth dimension (The Realm of Possibility). Without self-awareness, we are merely day dreaming fantasies or speaking gibberish affirmations that have no power to usher in our dreams. We must look beyond our thoughts and down to the depths of the identity that empowers or disempowers those thoughts. Attempting to address the thoughts alone is the mistake most people make. It’s like trying to run today’s apps, games, and modern programs on windows 95 software. It’s not the thoughts we must address, it’s the identity. Embrace the true divine intended I AM (GOD) identity and the thoughts will have the power behind them to shift and modify your world and experiences at will. Billy Alsbrooks It is written, 1 John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Advocacy Seminar Series! Bernard Richmond KC is delivering a free hybrid Advocacy Seminar Series. This is a really generous opportunity to spend time with a silk who is masterful on his feet. Bernard sits as a Coroner and a Recorder (amongst other appointments) and these will no doubt be brilliant sessions. He is a stand out silk, so make the most of it. See below and link in his post : Wednesday 12th November 2024 5.45-7.15pm HYBRID “Expert witnesses – choosing, conferencing and cross-examining.” In this session Bernard Richmond KC will examine how to choose an appropriate expert, how to ensure that you get the most out of your conference with them and, importantly, how to cross-examine opposing experts. Thursday 5th December 2024 5.45-7.15pm HYBRID “Questioning witnesses in an inquisitorial forum.” Although we have an adversarial legal system, there is a growing need for the ability to cross-examine in a more inquisitorial manner. This presents numerous challenges for the advocate who needs to keep control of their witness without using some of the common techniques at their disposal. Bernard Richmond KC will examine those techniques and strategies for ensuring the best outcome from your advocacy in such cases. Tuesday 14th January 2025 5.45-7.15pm HYBRID “Inquests – giving the deceased their voice.” What is the real purpose of an inquest? Is it as “inquisitorial” as it is supposed to be? How do interested parties play their role effectively? Bernard Richmond KC examines these and other questions about the coronial justice system. Thursday 30th January 2025 5.30-8.00pm (NOTE TIMES) HYBRID “Advocacy workshop – asking effective questions.” At whatever level an individual practices advocacy, there are always times when questions could be more (or much more!) effective. Too often an examination-in-chief or a cross-examination is going badly or less effectively and the advocate cannot work out why. In this session, Bernard Richmond KC will identify methods for assessing questions to diagnose weaknesses and provide practical tips for improvement. There will also be some opportunity to practice!
Having had a little break from providing COD sessions, I am back refreshed and re-invigorated. All sessions are hybrid. You can attend in person or online https://lnkd.in/eKXFZZv7
