Women in STEM: Bridging the Gender Gap 🧬💻 Women empowerment in today’s world is about creating opportunities, fostering inclusion, and ensuring that women can lead without barriers. It’s no longer just about advocating for equal rights; it's about amplifying women's voices in leadership, technology, education, and beyond. In a modern context, empowering women means dismantling structural inequalities and providing access to education, healthcare, and economic resources. It also involves changing narratives in media, promoting women in leadership roles, and addressing unconscious biases that still exist in workplaces. True empowerment requires more than just policy changes—it calls for a cultural shift where women are celebrated for their contributions, encouraged to take up space, and supported in their efforts to innovate, lead, and inspire future generations. With the rise of women in leadership positions across industries, we are moving toward a world where equality isn't a goal—it's the standard #women #empowerment #policy #POSH

Last Friday was an enthralling moment at the #ZeeLearningAnnex during the intriguing Debate Drill on the topic #WOMENSUPPORTINGWOMEN" Although the opposing team were able to convince the audience that Women do not support one another, sighting real life examples that were really on point. However, I will still oppose their motion, even though (as one of the judges) I had no option but to give them their crown. I believe that Women are still in the business of supporting and helping one another base on the the increase in platforms that are focused on women empowerment. Organisations such as Women Impact Tech WOMEN INC. Women of Color STEM Conference #MATA etc. are a few out of the thousands that are women oriented. And as such, millions of women have benefited from some of this platforms while others are still benefitting. Whenever we talk about #WOMENSUPPORTINGWOMEN, our focus should always be on what I call "NITCA" meaning :- NURTURING ~ INCLUSIVENESS ~ TEACHING ~ CONNECTING ~ APPRECIATING. The genuineness of "women supporting women" can only be powerful and essential for fostering growth, equality, and solidarity, when women uplift one another. It helps break down systemic barriers, reduce competition while fostering mutual relationships through support. Which I believe most of the org. are doing effectively. However, it's important that the support is genuine, inclusive, and intersectional, ensuring that women from all backgrounds, races, and socioeconomic statuses benefit. The goal is to create an environment where women aren't competing for limited opportunities but are instead creating and expanding opportunities for each other. © Peace Akaninyene #WomenSupportingwomen #Inclusiveness #Nuturing #Teaching #connecting #appreciating #Nocompetition #woman4woman #women #Isupport

‘Beyond Glass Ceilings’ - a dynamic session exploring how diverse leadership fuels innovation and how we can empower women leaders to shape the future of technology. Featuring Clara Chappaz Rika Nakazawa Élisabeth Moreno Kamola Sobirova & Zubair Timol as moderator. The panellists shared personal and professional experiences of overcoming challenges in order to rise to leadership roles: - Education plays a crucial role in addressing gender biases and stereotypes from a young age. Using technology to educate girls on opportunities in tech fields can help empower more women. - While policies are important, true progress requires companies and leaders to prioritize gender equality through their actions, like in hiring, retention, and culture. Best practices for empowering women should be shared. - Addressing unconscious biases openly and calling out lack of progress can help drive real change. Allyship and leadership from both women and men is needed. - Storytelling, sharing experiences, and acknowledging challenges are important for ongoing dialogue and learning on diversity issues. If innovation is your goal - you’ve got to walk it like you talk it. WOMEN IN TECH ® Global #WITGS24 #PowHER #PowHERofInnovation #WomenInTech #Innovation #GlassCeiling
