For anyone wondering how to end January with a positive bang. Then join our next FemMentored Mentoring Programme. We have over 100 Mentees registered, and we really need more Mentors. This is not new news for us, every cohort, despite the amazing women in our network. We always struggle to recruit enough mentors. And we really hate to disappoint our mentees. If you’re wondering if mentoring is for you. Spoiler alert…it is! But a few things to consider: 1. It’s a three month commitment to one hour monthly remote sessions. It’s the work your mentees put in, outside of the sessions that takes the time. 2. You are experienced enough. 3. You are senior enough. 4. You will make a connection, that will be truly impactul for another woman. 5. YOU ARE ENOUGH. Every connection we’ve make, is a meaningful way to lift up the next generation of women in the social impact sector. To pay back and to pay upwards the learnings, expertise and insight we all have. Deeply humbled to present the Leadership Award at the JA Company Finale 2024 Junior Achievement Mascareignes last week. This program emphasizes on the business, entrepreneurship, and economics curriculum for young people aged 15 – 19 years. Participation was nationwide across various colleges. It highlights business content, while providing hands-on experiences for starting, managing, and leading a business under guidance of a mentor. This year's theme was on Sustainability and they all came with innovative, eco-friendly products as well as building sustainable city board games. Congratulations to the winning team -Aquaglow : Students of grade 12 from Sookdeo Bissoondoyal State College I left the event with great satisfaction of the amazing work that JA Mascareignes do to encourage our young generations to be future work ready. The key learnings from these passionate younger generations are: 💡 They view sustainability as linked to social justice, health, and equity, reminding us that environmental efforts should benefit all. 💡 Their action-driven approach, from climate champion to community projects, shows that small changes can lead to big impacts. 💡 They push for corporate responsibility, innovate with eco-friendly solutions, and emphasize collaboration and inclusivity, ensuring all voices are heard.
