👄 Who got public speaking and networking tips from their dentist this morning? Just me? I was at the dentist this morning for an emergency polish of a temporary crown. The head dentist wanted to know what I did for a living but he's not supposed to ask so he suggested playing a game of “What's My Line?”. Yes, that reference dated both the dentist and me! His Gen Z assistant was baffled. ❓❓❓❓❓ “What's My Line?” was a game show on CBS that ran between 1950 and 1967, in the states. On the show, celebrity panelists question contestants to try and guess their occupation. 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 He made me realize what a great game this would be for a public speaking and networking event. 🎤 🎤 🎤 🎤 🎤 You could network and get to know people by asking them questions. Many people who network are so busy trying to sell that they forget that it’s better to be interested than interesting. You build relationships by being curious about others. At the same time, the person who is answering the questions gets to practice impromptu speaking. This is a valuable public speaking skill since many people find it challenging to make small talk and speak extemporaneously. They could take turns being the asker and the “askee” <= not sure that’s a word, but you get my drift. Years ago, for many, it was due to perceived simpler processes and a higher chance to obtain a State Sponsored visa. However more and more I hear of genuine preference for the lifestyle here over crowded cities with traffic/parking issues, long work travel time, fast pace and so on. My work involves assisting clients in all states and territories but this post is about Tasmania. The Department of State Growth Tasmania has the following information on its website in relation to state sponsored visas (introduction only). ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️ Applying for Tasmanian state nomination and applying for a visa are two separate processes. The Tasmanian Government assesses your application for state nomination and the Department of Home Affairs assesses your visa application. You must first create an Expression of Interest (EOI) in the Department of Home Affairs SkillSelect system. This will tell you if you meet the basic eligibility requirements for a skilled migration visa. After creating your EOI, you can register your interest in nomination from the Tasmanian Government on the Migration Tasmania Gateway. The most competitive candidates will then be invited to apply for Tasmanian nomination. (Note: they include: THE MOST COMPETITIVE CANDIDATES WILL THEN BE INVITED) ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️ Most Registered Migration Agents are highly skilled and experienced at assisting clients with these applications. As each State/Territory can have very different requirements, that change regularly, my clients and others (before they sought qualified assistance) have reported confusion, refusals where basic requirements were overlooked. If managing your application without assistance it is essential you search for appropriate checklists to prepare and lodge 100% of the requirements. It can be a simple matter to lodge the applications without assistance - it depends on your knowledge, skills and sometimes luck! This proves the power of consistently building a BRAND IDENTITY and TRUST in every little effort that may look lame to people, but Khaby made a "lame" strategy famous.... and most importantly, CONVERTING 🙌 And due to his sensation outbreak, millions of TikTokers now duplicate this strategy to build their own identity with just 1-2 type(s) of postings every single day. In a content creator's perspective, JUST DO IT until you get noticed. In an organisation's perspective, on the other hand, PROVE your employer that it WILL work even if it sounds lame. Branding is not a one-month job whereby you can see the performance in a month, it could take 6-12 months to at least build brand visibility. But it will definitely be an enjoyable job to do when you cherish every process and progress day-by-day, because the HUSTLE will eventually produce "HASIL" 💕 #branding
