On Tue 2 Jul 2024, Director General DMS, Air Marshal Clare Walton held her first Director General’s Awards Ceremony, recognising some of the outstanding achievements from the past 12 months and the people who made them happen. Over 100 people attended the ceremony which included award winners, members of their family and friends and DMS personnel. “… in spite all of these challenges we are delivering great things … Thank you to each and every one of you”, DG remarked as she delivered her opening address to colleagues, family and friends who had joined the audience to celebrate and enjoy the occasion. Representing the breadth and variety of work going on in the DMS, awards were given to personnel from all areas of the business, from work in data, operational support, wellbeing projects, education and professional development initiatives and dedication to clinical excellence. Hearing the citations for Individual and Team DG DMS Commendations as well as 4* Commendations, 3* Commendations, Chief of the Field Army Commendations, the Chadwick Military Medal and Prize and The Firmin Sword of Peace as well as a number of MOD Civil Service 40 year Long Service Awards, DG was visibly proud of the DMS workforce that she leads. Congratulations to all awards winners 2024 and thank you to the team for organising a wonderful event.

Would be lovely to see a list of winners if anyone can help signpost it Defence Medical Services ?
From retirement, I salute both the award recipients and the wider DMS for their outstanding work in support of the uniformed population at risk. The risks borne by all in uniform justifes all the expense of an occupationaly appropriate health service that properly prepares, sustains and recovers members of His Majesty’s Armed Forces.
