It's been a week since my first 'parking event'... The International Parking Community (IPC) Conference 2023 and Awards Dinner. What struck me the most was the universal nature of the 'industry event'. No matter the industry, the essence of these gatherings remains consistent. So, here are key takeaways that transcend industry boundaries and hold true for all of us: 💡 Innovation Elevates Your Presence: A tiny spark of innovation can illuminate your presence at any event, drawing attention and setting you apart. Networking or whether the goal is worth the effort. Summits, conferences, panels, and the choice of opportunities are huge, but does it really work? Is it really possible to gain connections and experiences by attending events, and is it generally useful and interesting? How to choose: ✅ Choose by segments. There may be specific events that are held, for example, by  "Business Constructor", as well as restaurant summits, construction, educational programs, and events for CEOs, etc. Participating in such events, you can be sure that the entire "market" that is represented in this segment will be present. For speakers, this is an opportunity to demonstrate competence and expertise. This is a unique image component that adds reputational weight. For participants, it is a place to meet new people and find partners to develop their business. ✅ Selection by the list of speakers. If there is a speaker whose expertise you admire and respect, motivates you, go ahead, don't delay! Prepare in advance to discuss your question at the opportunity in breaks and ask for advice. Latest technologies and innovations. Everything that has a huge horizon width. The future of technology vs the technology of the future. Which industries are on the brink of change, and which technologies will be the next disruptors? On such summits, completely non-standard and even experimental topics can be presented there. Based on these criteria, I was interested in the “Win Tech Summit “ (November 30, 2023), especially the MedTech panel discussion where the market potential of bionic prostheses will be discussed, the demand for which is growing due to hostilities. The prospects for the development of biotechnology in the domestic medical field will be also on the panel’s agenda, and we will find out how the war affected progress in the field of health care. By the way, one of the speakers in this discussion will be Olena Nikolaienko, she will present the FFU foundation and talk about our experience on the topic: "The driving force of charitable funds: a unique experience." So, is networking worth the effort? My answer is YES! It's just a matter of choosing the right activity and the mood you'll take with you.

IT WAS A BLAST!!! 💥 3 weeks have past and I still tell people how surreal Digitale Leute Summit 2023 was. I still have shivers when I think about it. Here are my highlights 👇 1️⃣ Meeting friends, heroes and virtual connections IRL, and making new friends Shout-out to the wonderful people that I've met Frederik Vosberg, Timothy Krechel, Tim Herbig, Roman Pichler, Tobias Freudenreich, Nacho Bassino, Tim Klein, Lilith Brockhaus, Thomas Gläser 🚀, Simonetta Batteiger, Frank Harris, Bettina Heinlein aaaand the wonderful Digitale Leute gang Stefan Vosskoetter, Annika Theisen, Laura Madeleine B. and Thomas Riedel. And all lovely people who connected with me in person or on LinkedIn after my talk or gave me a high five! DL Summit has a different place in my heart because it's the place where friendships are made ❤️ 2️⃣ The overfilled room and engaged crowd I started public speaking in 2019. I sucked! Four years later... Presenting to an overfilled room, people sitting on the floor and standing at the wall. Getting a rating of 4.33/5, in the top 5 talks that day. People reaching out to me with praise as the most engaging talk. AND getting a slot to be the keynote speaker at a conference in 2024. From loser to "Rampensau". Shivers! Frank Harris on the insights how Slackenians (you want the copyright for this term Frank? 😜) collaborate and work towards creating an experience that is enhancing productivity. I loved the examples of their North Star Metrics. You know, I'm a NSM nerd 😉 Bernhard Spielmann on how Redcare Pharmacy (Shop Apotheke) turned into a customer centric company. There's no "playbook". Take one step at a time, and see what next makes the most sense. Julia Weinmann on the responsibility of Designers for creating products that save our planet. Companies cannot look aways any further. If they think "but it's unprofitable", then they miss on a huge opportunity to make money because of serving the planet. In case the ethical aspect that our children will live on a burned planet is not enough incentive for you. Tobias Freudenreich advocating cross-functional leadership in cross-functional environments. Try the role swap: For example, as a product lead, you need to advocate for the tech lead's topics and explain why they are important.
