Family > Everything else To be a top performer, doesn’t mean that you should ever sacrifice your time and shared moments with loved ones. Well, at least we think so. That's why we offer Dads 9 months fully paid paternity leave. It's why we offer Mums the same. Why we allow you to work the hours you want (and don't ask questions). And why we provide unlimited holidays. We only hire the very best. And the very best people, deserve the very best support. P.S. ⛳ When I grow up I want to be Scottie Scheffler! 🏌♂️ Hands down the best golfer in the world right now but a seemingly sound guy as well. Recently he said that he'd walk out in the middle of the Masters tournament (the biggest singles tournament in golf) if his wife went into labour. Fortunately for him (unfortunately for the rest of the field) that didn't happen and he went on to win the tournament. But what would you do as an employer if an employee said that they had to leave part way through their working day in that situation? Technically, paternity leave doesn't begin until the birth of the child. If the employee was in work that day then their paternity leave doesn't begin until the following day. So in this situation, the employee would have to: - finish working! or - agree with the employer to take some other form of leave eg holiday or dependant's leave. I would hope that most employers would see sense and agree on the 2nd option, but if someone is a surgeon or a delivery driver for example, it might not be as easy as getting someone else to cover the work. As always, if you're 'bunkered' 🥁 (sorry!) by an employment issue, get in touch with the employment team at Lupton Fawcett LLP #employmentlaw #paternityleave

Two questions to ask yourself before taking leave: 1️⃣ What things would make me excited to return to work after parental leave -aka what is energy-LIFTING? 2️⃣ What things am I dreading when I return to work after parental leave - aka what is energy-DRAINING? Most expecting employees want to dive right into coverage planning, but taking a step back first will allow you to plan for parental leave with intentionality. This exercise is so powerful because it'll help you build a coverage plan that supports your career vision and a more meaningful return. #parentalleave #career

Destroyer of inefficiencies, reformer of processes, builder of confidences and protector of customer relationships!
📢 Business owners, stating "We comply with state law" is not the flex you think it is when explaining why your company doesn't offer paid parental leave. 👎 In fact, it just highlights that your company only offers the bare minimum to your employees. ✨ Providing paid parental leave is not just a compliance issue, it's a human issue. 🔥 Let's strive to do better for our employees and their families. #paidparentalleave #employeebenefits #humanresources

More companies are giving more employees more time for paternity leave... and more dads are actually taking that time off! But it's not all sunshine and baby giggles, with A LOT of the dads I'm talking to expressing isolation, frustration, and boredom. What's the solution? Join a paternity leave group that is made for dads! We'll provide fun mini adventures to go on with your kid and a group of great guys to do it with. By the end, you'll be more comfortable and confident with your baby, have lots of ideas of fun things to do with them, and a gang of other guys to do things with.

Question for people who work at companies that have a #PaidLeave program for parental leave: If you have a time-employed requirement, do you allow employees to utilize the paid leave following the same guidelines as #FMLA? With FMLA, you're entitled to the full 12 weeks as soon as you meet the eligibility requirements, even if that doesn't happen to line up exactly with the birth/adoption of your baby. For example, if you work somewhere 10 months and have a baby on that 10th month, you'll become eligible/entitled to the full 12 weeks of FMLA on your work anniversary (assuming you also meet the hours-worked requirement). Does your company's paid leave program follow that? Why or why not? #ThingsYouHearInHR #LOA #GenuinelyCurious

Our little one has brought so much joy to our lives! Today, DJ Cox returns to work. We're incredibly grateful to Cognito Forms for offering paternity leave. Having my husband home for the first four weeks was invaluable, and we're so thankful for their support. Employers- offering fatherhood benefits can have a big impact on employee satisfaction and retention. Research shows that companies with higher participation in these programs often see better results in the long run. It's a win-win for everyone! #paternityleave #newparents #thankyou #employeebenefits #worklifebalance
