First steps are hard. They require careful planning, calculated risk, and most of all, courage. We took a daring first step earlier this month with the completion of TA-1’s first powered flight, reaching high supersonic speeds approaching Mach 5. The flight was a landmark moment on our path to providing our customers and nation a reusable and routine hypersonic test capability. Congratulations to the Stratolaunch team and our partners on this achievement! Stay tuned on our progress as we prepare to fly our first fully reusable Talon-A vehicle, TA-2, later this year. #hypersonic #firstflight #LetsRoc

I love that a coyote is trotting across the tarmac pre-flight. To many the coyote is seen as a symbol of strength, wisdom, resilience and re-birth. Just watchout for his occasional trickery! It seems very fitting for all the "careful planning, calculated risk, and most of all, courage" in achieving this milestone. Congratulations!

It is amazing and marvellous. But I don’t understand the use of the multi-fuselage concept. Theoretically, a better distribution of bending moments (less accentuated in the proximity of the connection wing fusolage). Less wing weight, less required thrust. Is it possible that this aircraft concept was born for this reason? Why a single fusolage design can not be used? And why can not the rudders be joined (torsional moment reduction)?

Congratulations on the groundbreaking success of TA-1's first powered flight, hitting near Mach 5 speeds! This is a huge leap forward in hypersonic test capabilities. Kudos to the Stratolaunch team and partners. Can't wait to see TA-2 take to the skies!

@Stratolaunch How on earth do you even get type-rated to fly ROC?

Very cool, but I want to know more about that launch platform vehicle.

I remember ROC's first flight... Seeing it take off and fly by all I could do was laugh because it looked kind of strange seeing such an insanely huge thing fly. Very cool!

Captivating! Can a LAV serve as a launch platform? Less expense and risk.
