There are three sides to every story. This applies to the ones employees have, particularly about your brand and company. How do your employees perceive your brand? Employees gain their perceptions from 3 sources: 1. The external brand the world sees 2. The employer branding efforts you make 3. The internal brand that exists inside the company Are you aware of the discrepancies (or similarities) in these perceptions? Are you ok with them being different (or the same)? How are you influencing each of these sources? Can you identify the messages employees get from each? Employee brand perception is a topic we don’t talk about enough. Please leave your thoughts in the comments and let’s chat about it.

I partnered with organizations to elevate employee experience, foster well-being, and unlock talent potential for thriving workplaces. | IOP & HR Consultant
Internal branding is just as important as external branding! When employees connect with your brand, they become its biggest advocates, helping you keep your brand promises through meaningful experiences. You need strong systems for empowerment, rewards, training, mentorship, and career growth to make this work. Just to remind you, what you offer your customers should be mirrored in your workplace. Here are some key points for effective internal branding: empower employees with autonomy, recognize and reward those who embody brand values, provide training and mentorship, and offer career development opportunities. By supporting your employees and investing in their development, you create a brand they truly believe in, boosting engagement and enhancing your brand’s reputation. A strong internal brand turns employees into passionate brand ambassadors, enhancing your workplace culture and external reputation. #EmployerBranding #EmployeeExperience #BrandAdvocacy #WorkCulture #EmployeeEngagement

Let me say something- Employer Branding is not about making videos of employees who read the curated scripts and posting them—- If your employees are engaged, they believe in direction of the company, they see their future with the company, and excited about what they do, they will represent you well as authentic brand ambassadors- that’s when and how you create authentic employer brand! It starts from the day how they had been treated as candidates to all touch-points across the whole employee life cycle! That also includes how they are treated when they resign. Exit processes are important. They can continue to be our customers, brand advocates or partners! Think long term! Build an Employer Brand which would last and which is authentic!

Are we branding for employers or employees? The spotlight has been on 'branding' for far too long. But are we focusing on the right audience? Traditionally, our efforts are directed towards the customers, but let me introduce a radical shift - the employees. Your brand isn’t just your customer's lighthouse. It's your team's guiding star, embodying your culture, vision, and values. We all know the importance of employer branding, but have you been neglecting employee branding? What about crafting your brand for those who live and breathe it every day, our frontline warriors - our employees? Think about the rewards. Employee engagement, powerful brand advocates, and a brand that truly reflects your identity. Isn't it high time to switch from branding for an anonymous market to branding explicitly for your own team? So, the next time you're brainstorming about your brand, ask - who are we actually creating it for?
