Did someone say... Dark mode? 🌚

No, we don't want a Dark Mode… we actually want to EDIT our comments… and also we need to be able to add a new line when commenting to make comments easier to read. Besides that, I'm looking forward to the dark mode – just to switch back to light mode… I'm a bright girl! Also, I really miss the orange header! Why did you remove it? It was really important for the UX. It also became a trademark… when posting a screenshot on IG or somewhere else, you always knew: Yay… a STRAVA activity! I really love the orange, and I guess I'm not the only one who's missing the orange header! 😉

I make my own dark mode, it’s called switching my phone off and closing my eyes.

I don't get the move of announcing that is is coming? Why not just wait a few more weeks and announce the day that it drops? What am I missing? Still excited for the feature.

😑 Oh, fantastic, but isn't it a bit late to the party? Well congrats Strava on finally rolling out dark mode. Feels like the first bencher kid finally getting cooler, right? But seriously, while it's a step in the right direction, there's still a whole world of features out there waiting to be explored. Think boosting companionship, finding local communities, and real-time connections with fellow athletes. You know, the stuff that could really make a difference. I'll be honest, the lack of such features actually pushed me to take matters into my own hands. Frustrated by the gap, I ended up conceptualizing my own product with these features. It even became the focus of my UX capstone project for graduation! As a committed user, I've seen these needs pop up time and time again. So, here's to hoping Strava catches up with the rest of us soon!

Really don't care about dark mode but love the way you handled this. Thanks for listening to your customers! If only everyone did...

I would like to see better integration to Fitbit and other tracking devices. Currently only GPS type activities (Run, Walk, Bike) will sync. Anything not requiring GPS (like strength training, Yoga, etc) will not sync. Also it would be nice if Strava would provide a Y/N option before syncing and posting. I run with my Pixel watch but also track on the Strava app. Afterwards, Strava shows both activities as a Group (Frank W ran with Frank W) and I have to go back and delete one of them. This is really stupid.

As a Strava user myself, I gotta say, I’m looking forward to Dart mode as well. But I’m also using the way it’s announced and being rolled out as a case study that I think executives should be paying attention to. If you notice, there isn’t a big campaign around it yet. The CEO made the announcement himself, basically explaining how it came to be a priority for the organization by bringing the fans into the conversation. And look at how much real people were a part of the narrative. So, two key takeaways. One, Dart mode is coming. I’m jazzed about that. And second, if you’re a founder, on a leadership team, or a small business owner, get comfortable being the one communicating and engaging with your stakeholders online. It not only reduces your customer acquisition cost but also your overall marketing cost while building your brand awareness in the process.
