The Earth 🤝 Athletes on Strava
Celebrate Earth Day all week long by joining the Earth Week: Commute to Curb Carbon Challenge! Trade your car for your feet or a bike, tag the activity as a commute, and rack up the CO2 savings.
Strava Metro's goal is to collectively save 500,000kg of carbon dioxide emissions in support of EARTHDAY.ORG. That's roughly equivalent to planting 15,000 trees! 🌲
So lets get out there and give back to the planet that lets us do the sports we love. You can join the challenge at the below link. Happy Earth Week! 🌎

Happy World Earth Day 2024: Earth Day is extremely important as a reminder of our common obligation to protect the Earth for future generations.
Earth Day 2024's theme is "Planet vs. Plastics."
Earth Day: Cherishing nature’s harmony
Every year on 22nd of April, we celebrate Earth Day - A Special day for our beautiful angelic divine mother Earth. Our beautiful Planet Earth is like a canvas, on which nature has painted its most exquisite breath-taking views of landscapes, from giant majestic mountains to beautiful blue oceans, incredible human beings to green forests. Earth day reminding us that we all are the part of nature and need to take care of it.
While Earth Day is a time to enjoy the beauty of nature and appreciate it, It is also a reminder for us to do something to protect and preserve our beautiful planet. We can do things like planting trees, saving energy, reducing waste. We all can also reduce carbon footprints through the adoption of Electric Vehicles these EVs helps in cutting down of carbon emissions and reducing air pollution.
This Earth Day, let’s make the choice that honour the Earth, not just today, but everyday by choosing the EVs we can take a step towards the cleaner air and quieter streets.
So come together and take pledge to live in harmony with nature and to protect our precious planet.
ETM Bikes wishes you a harmonious Earth Day.

🌍 It's Earth Overshoot Day
August 1 marks #EarthOvershootDay - the day when our demand for ecological resources exceeds what Earth can regenerate in a year.
What does it mean?
It means that since the early 1970s, humanity has lived on an ecological credit card.
In 1971, Earth Overshoot Day was December 25. Today, it’s August 1.
That’s not a good sign.
Let’s face it: if we stay on this path, future generations are going to have it rough.
We already have it rough. Imagine this intensifying.
Let's act now—our planet needs us. 🌱
Check out the Global Footprint Network, they have some great insights on how to make a difference.
🌍 Earth Overshoot Day 2024🌍
August 1st, marks Earth Overshoot Day 2024. This date signifies when humanity's demand for ecological resources in a given year exceeds what Earth can regenerate in that same year. Essentially, we are using up more resources than our planet can sustainably provide, and we're doing it faster each year.
The implications are profound. Collectively, humanity would need 1.75 Earths to sustain our current level of consumption. If everyone lived like the average resident of the United States, we would require five Earths to meet our demands.
This overshoot leads to deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and increased carbon dioxide emissions, all of which contribute to climate change and environmental degradation. But it’s not too late to #MoveTheDate.
Let’s work together to shift Earth Overshoot Day later into the year. Each action, no matter how small, contributes to a more sustainable future. 🌱

When is your country's 'overshoot day'?
🌎 Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity’s demand for ecological resources and services exceeds what the Earth can regenerate that year.
📅 On 1 August 2024, we will hit the mark for the year. That means that in just 7 months, humanity has used what Earth takes 12 months to regenerate.
But we can make changes to #MoveTheDate by reducing our demand on our planet.

Really great evidence based article on the issue of inheritance tax.
"Why so many politicians are getting exercised on behalf of such a small number of potential voters is puzzling"
There're much more pressing issues that our leaders should focus on in #Budget2025
https://lnkd.in/eggxrPhr
For example they really should be focusing on reversing the inheritance of a burning planet driven by our unsustainable economic model we are leaving to all our children.

🌍💚 Today, on Earth Day, let's pause and think about our amazing planet. We may dream of finding a new place to live, but right now, Earth is all we have. It's our precious home, and we must take care of it.
I watched a video called "Planet B" by Angry Earth, and it made me realize something important. Our Earth is facing big problems like global warming, pollution, and losing important resources. But we can do something about it.
Even though we dream of exploring new planets, let's not forget to take care of our own. Every little thing we do—like using less plastic, saving water, being kind to animals, and planting trees—makes a big difference.
Our planet is a breath taking masterpiece of nature's artistry, adorned with majestic mountains, serene oceans, lush forests, and vibrant landscapes. Its beauty captivates the soul and fills the heart with wonder. From the gentle sway of trees to the soothing sound of waves crashing on the shore, melody of flowing rivers, every part of Earth is filled with beauty and wonder. It's a treasure that we must cherish and protect for generations to come. Truly, Earth is a precious gem in the vast universe, deserving of our love, admiration, and utmost care...
Let's promise to make our Earth beautiful again, just like it used to be. Let's protect it with all our hearts.
Happy Earth Day! 🌍💚
