A Simple Act of Kindness: Help Our Feathered & Furry Friends 🐈🐕🐦⬛🪶 As summer heats up, spare a thought for the stray animals and birds who share our world. Finding water becomes a struggle, and dehydration can be fatal. We can all make a difference with a small act of kindness! Leaving out bowls or pots of clean water provides a lifeline for these vulnerable creatures. Every drop counts! Here's how to join this initiative: Find a container: You can use clay pots or upcycle old bowls, saucers, or even plastic containers. ♻️ Fill it with fresh water: Replenish it daily to ensure it stays clean and cool. 🚰 Place it in a shaded area: This prevents the water from evaporating too quickly. ☀️ Spread the word: Encourage your neighbors and community to do the same! ️🗣️ ESPECIALLY INVOLVE CHILDREN IN THIS INITIATIVE TO SOW THE SEED OF KINDNESS IN THEIR HEARTS ❣️ Imagine the collective impact of countless little water stations across neighborhoods! Why 'Prakriti' and 'Karma'? It starts with the story that laid the foundation of our care for stray animals 15 years ago! Back in the day, we (The Sinha family) brought home a rabbit and named her Tuktuk. We were absolutely in love with her. Months flew by. One day, when the door was mistakenly left open, three stray dogs entered our home, chasing and scaring Tuktuk. She didn’t survive the trauma, the incident left us shattered. Pain, shock, and trauma built up. We were distraught with the dogs. But soon we realized that everything, EVERYTHING, happens for a reason. Before Tuktuk, we had never paid such close attention to stray dogs. With time, we understood that 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬—𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 (𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢) 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. It’s not their fault. 𝐁𝐮𝐭, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚). This understanding has formed the underpinning of the name of the NGO. The close relation in which 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 (𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢) and the 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬/ 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚) work together, perfectly sums up the essence of life. Flora, fauna, natural resources, geographies, etc are part of nature, and the ways we interact with them lead to our fate. For example- Destroy flora, bear rising temperatures. Destroy wildlife, bear extinction. These are just a few specific cases, but they help us understand the sentiment. As winter wraps its chilly arms around us, it’s the stray souls without a shelter that weigh heavily on my heart. ❄️🐾 Animals, our silent companions on this Earth, often bear the brunt of the season’s harshness without a voice to ask for help. Empathy towards these creatures is more than a feeling; it's a call to action. Seeing an animal braving the cold without refuge is a stark reminder of their vulnerability and our responsibility. It stirs a profound desire in me to extend a hand of warmth and safety to these beings who ask for so little yet give so much. I advocate for adoption, not just as a means to find a pet, but as a life-saving gesture for the many animals who call the streets their home. Each adoption is a life transformed. Imagine the countless tails that could wag in the warmth of a loving home, the purrs that could fill rooms instead of empty alleyways. So, let’s not just walk by. Let’s stop, let’s care, and let’s act. *The Power of Kindness Towards Homeless Animals* It doesn’t take much to be kind, but the impact of kindness can be profound—especially when it comes to homeless animals. Every day, countless animals roam the streets, without shelter, food, or care. While they may not have the ability to speak for themselves, their eyes, actions, and expressions tell us that they feel pain, joy, hunger, and love, just as we do. Animals, like humans, deserve to be treated with compassion and respect. Whether it’s offering food to a stray, providing water on a hot day, or simply showing them affection, these small gestures can mean the world to them.
