Thanks again to Terrapinn team for inviting me to join the Panel Beyond streaming: What’s next for media and OTT panel yesterday at #Telecoms World Middle East and to Rachelle Peterson for moderating. Among the key points from the discussion with colleagues from the sector: - enhancements in #personalization/recommendations we already experiencing from recent #AI advancements - complimentary nature of #socialmedia platforms to provide OTTs with consumer engagement data and monetization in addition to marketing/awareness - ongoing appeal of linear formats/channels as a lean back experience and of course #liveSports events/analysis - renewed potential of #bundling among OTT services to address challenges in subscriber #retention, #discoverability and experience among divergent content services As it was a telecom conference, one particularly poignant data point emerged: telecom subscribers who had activated an #OTT bundle were 25% less likely to #churn from their telecom plan/provider! This is not the first time I have heard this from an operator in MENA, but it reinforces the synergistic value experienced from our #telco #partnerships at Shahid in recent years! #twme

Some early stage CTV AdTech companies worth watching. This is not every vendor, but those shared with me after I asked recently via LI, who the up and coming CTV companies were. Some are also companies I have been introduced to as I start exploring my next role, and others are those I have read about in the trade press, or come across recently via their social thought leadership. I wanted to share for others who are looking to move into CTV, or may already be at a company and looking to partner with innovative, early stage AdTech companies in the streaming space. As highlighted in our latest Analyst Insight, the #FAST market is having a major disruptive impact on the traditional linear playout technology and managed services sector. The data shows that while areas like playout automation and managed services are declining as audiences shift to streaming, FAST is rapidly expanding. In fact, FAST is predicted to capture 35% revenue share of the overall playout market by 2027. This seismic shift is being driven by broadcasters' need to operate channels at lower costs to maintain profitability amid sluggish linear TV ad revenues. Interestingly, we're actually seeing an expansion of both linear and FAST channels, as they can potentially generate revenue if delivered through low-cost, cloud-based playout solutions and "managed SaaS" services. The transition from relatively high-value traditional playout to lighter-weight, cloud-based tools reflects the industry's adaptation to evolving viewer habits and the relentless need for cost optimization. As FAST continues to disrupt the landscape, incumbents must innovate and adapt their offerings to remain competitive in this rapidly changing market.
