Education can break the cycle of poverty and give children a brighter future, yet 1 in 10 children worldwide are currently out of school. Street Child is working to change that. First, we ensure that children are safe, especially from risks that keep them from accessing an education. Then we get children back into school by supporting enrolment and livelihoods for their families. Finally, we improve the quality of education so that children can actually learn when they're at school! Corporate partners are critical to our work, enabling us to reach more children in need. Founder/ Director at TTF FOUNDATION (TTF) || CSR || Empowering Education || Enabling Learning Opportunities for All
In many parts of the world, there are children who do not go to school. Instead, they spend their days begging on the streets. These children often come from very poor families who cannot afford to send them to school. This situation not only affects their future but also hinders the progress of society as a whole. Education is a powerful tool that can help break the cycle of poverty. When children receive an education, they have better job opportunities in the future. This means they can earn more money and support their families better, lifting them out of poverty. Every child deserves the chance to learn and grow. By working together to provide education for all, we can create a brighter future not just for individual children, but for society as a whole. Addressing the challenges faced by children who beg and ensuring they have access to education is a critical step toward a more just and prosperous world. #support #education #underprivileged #TTF #Hope # #changetogether

Poverty and education. In new research with Morgan Beeson, we suggest that a Children North East intervention (Poverty Proofing (c)), which helps schools tackle the stigma of poverty in the classroom, can improve educational outcomes. https://lnkd.in/edtJizWt #WeAreNCL #ChildPoverty #Education

66% of child trafficking victims are girls. 💔 (Save the Children, 2020) Many girls around the world are forced to drop out of school or are denied access to income-generating opportunities. This social exclusion traps them in a cycle of extreme poverty and increases their vulnerability to trafficking and exploitation. 🌍 The lack of education not only limits their lifetime earning potential but also perpetuates poverty for future generations. At Fight For The One, we are committed to breaking this cycle and protecting the most vulnerable. Join us in making a difference. ✨ Visit our website to learn how we're making a difference and join the fight: https://lnkd.in/e4iXx2X7

After reading the column, as a teacher, it was disheartening seeing the devastating impact of poverty and rising inflation on our children's education. Illiteracy rates are skyrocketing, and it's not because our children lack potential - it's because they're often forced to drop out of school to work and support their families. The cycle of poverty is vicious, and it's our responsibility to break it. We need to demand more from our government to ensure every child has access to quality education, regardless of their financial situation. The good news is that with favourable policies, we can make a difference! Here are 5 ways the government can intervene: - Provide free or subsidized education for all children, regardless of income level - Increase funding for schools in low-income areas to provide resources and support - Implement literacy programs and reading initiatives to help struggling students catch up - Offer financial assistance and scholarships to families who need it most - Train and support teachers to better address the needs of students from diverse backgrounds Let's come together to demand change and ensure every child has the chance to read, write, and succeed! Our children's future depends on it. #TeachersForChange #EducationIsKey #BreakTheCycle #children #schools #nigeria https://lnkd.in/eXmViH63

Sad how despite being a modern Western country so many children are still living in poverty, this number is increasing again and it tears me up that there are so many children out there who don't have access to the basics. There is such disparity across society, if we don't invest in today's children, if we don't tackle poverty, what world and chances will there be for children today as they reach adulthood? #tacklechildpoverty #inequality #disparity #socialinjustice #childreninpoverty #let'smakethefuturebetter
New figures today show that 4.3 million children are growing up in poverty in the UK. It’s time for urgent change. Our Charter for Children calls for a fair share of national resources, a secure future and equal chance for all children. https://lnkd.in/e4xrUX_c #BetterChancesforChildren #WeAreCoram #CharterforChildren

🚨 New report 🚨 There are currently 1 billion children across the world in learning poverty— meaning they are unable to read a simple sentence by the time they finish elementary school. Our new report found that if all systems globally applied the lessons from 14 successful systems we researched, nearly 350 million children could be lifted out of learning poverty by 2050. Here’s how: https://mck.co/49ABwV9 #Education #Students #School #SchoolSystems

No child should go hungry in school. Bevan Foundation research indicates that children in Wales are routinely excluded from accessing free school meals because of their parents' immigration status. Our new briefing provides insights into why entitlement to free schools meals is an essential part of tackling poverty and hunger in children affected by no recourse to public funds: 💡 Restricting eligibility for free school melas based on parents' immigration status disproportionately affects children from black and ethnic minorities and results in discrimination. 💡Lack of access to free school meals restricts access to the School Essentials Grant. 💡The Welsh Government should extend eligibility for free school meals to children affected by no recourse to public funds, in line with current eligibility in England.
