“People always say Green buildings are too expensive.” But the reality is that's what poor design wants you to believe. But here’s the reality: It’s not the green that’s costly – it’s the shortcuts. Smart design isn’t about splurging on solar panels or chasing certifications. It’s about strategy. 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 over insulation. 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 over artificial. 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, not against it. Sustainability isn’t about spending more; it’s about 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞. And when design skips the essential steps, that’s when costs soar. We’ve all seen it: Oversized HVAC systems compensating for bad layouts. Shiny exteriors hiding heat traps. “Green” materials masking inefficient spaces. The real power of sustainable design? It’s not just affordable to build – it’s built to last. Cheaper to maintain. Healthier to live in. Smarter in every way. So, next time someone says, “Green is too expensive,” Flip the question: “Or is it just a design that didn’t work hard enough?” Because great design isn’t about how much you spend. It’s about how thoughtfully you plan. Let’s change the conversation around sustainability. What’s your perspective?

1wActually, the problem isn't with people who think of Green Building expensive, instead problem lies with the narrative of Green Building that accompanies a sleek design building with galvanzied glass facade. Obviously, people will think that Green Buildings are expensive. The most sustainale/Green buildings were those built with All natural materials (Clay, Stone, Straw bails, Bamboo). See, very cheap Actually.
