While the idea of Mauricio Pochettino managing the US Men's National Team may sound exciting, I have significant concerns about both this decision and the deeper issues within US Soccer. The USSF leadership remains a real disappointment. Even the best manager can't fix the deeper, systemic issues without real change at the top. US Soccer must address its huge financial mismanagement and work to rebuild trust with its stakeholders through transparent and effective leadership—not just splashy appointments.
