How often should we be sending email? Daily? Weekly? Somewhere in between? The easy answer is: it depends. But, really, it depends on the data. Some brands need to send a lot of email, and some need to send very little. If you've been sending email, you have some data to work with. If you're not sure what you're looking at, do some testing and see what works If you haven't been sending... start and see what works.

Let’s say you send an email to abc(@)yourcompany(.)com - will it be delivered? Likely not, unless there's a catch-all account in place. A catch-all account ensures that any email sent to the domain, regardless of typos or variations before the (@), gets through. Why do I even bring this up? In email outreach, catch-all accounts are often viewed with caution. The concern? Emails sent to these addresses can still bounce, which impacts sender reputation and hurts deliverability rates. I’ve faced the same dilemma: a. Should we ignore catch-all emails? b. Or send them and hope they land? After analyzing our outreach data (and millions of other records), it became clear: Ignoring them could mean missing out on 20-30% of potential leads. Fortunately, there are tools to validate catch-all emails and minimize risk at scale. By the way, we’ve just made catch-all verification free at BetterContact—previously, it was a paid feature.

What the F&£k is Data Hygeine in less than 100 words 🤯: Data is only as good as the verification. Sending to non existent email addresses will kill your reputation. And burn your domains. Higher bounce rates and undeliverables flags you as spam to ESPs. To avoid this, always double verify data in two different places. Tools like MillionVerifier are great at this, and will list the good, risky and bad. Don’t use the bad, and avoid the risky unless you can validate catch-all emails. Constant Monitoring: Sender reputation needs continuous attention. Technical Setup: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC matter. A lot! Blacklist Woes: One blacklist hit, and your campaign’s done. Engagement is the King: Low open rates? Expect trouble. Algorithms Change: What worked last week may not work today. Reading the brilliant newsletter by Lauren Meyer it talks about Do you really need authentication? Just in the past week I can across the answer to this. Started working with a totally kick ass new client, we added some new subscribers from a comp, I stupidly didn’t check the domain settings, assuming it was as already set up, silly me for not checking. Added these people into the welcome flow and boom shit open rates. Sorted the authentication out and instantly rose 20%. That is how important authentication is. Obviously I’m not stopping there with the account but it’s a good start. #emailgeeks #emailmarketing

📊 New report from GlockApps: Email Deliverability for Q3 2024 The Q3 is over, so it's time to summarize the results! 📈 We continue monitoring email deliverability and collect data based on the email tests created by our customers. Here are some key insights from our fresh report: 1️⃣ Google remains the top ESP, used by 38% of our clients. 2️⃣ The average Inbox Placement rate decreased by 3% compared to Q2. 3️⃣ Senders with more than 10,000 emails per month had much higher inbox placement rates (57-63%) compared to smaller senders, who reached only 28%. 🔗 Want to know more?
