PHCC #TipOfTheWeek: "We saw during the pandemic that there was so much politicizing of the public health information we were trying to put out, and as communicators, we are stuck in the middle. I always like to fall back on what's really important, and what our role is—prevention, promotion, and protection.” Watch the recording of our "Engaging the Media to Amplify Public Health Messaging" webinar to learn more from @Sonia Gonzalez and other experts: https://bit.ly/4deechP

Today marks the beginning of National Public Health Week (NPHW) 🙌🏼🙌🏼 As a public health professional, I am heartened by President Biden's proclamation regarding NPHW, emphasizing "that the healthier Americans are as individuals, the stronger we are as a nation." Public health encompasses a holistic perspective on health and healthcare; it encompasses where we live, work, play, etc. It embraces an upstream approach, creating and implementing equitable systems and policies to foster healthier communities for all populations. This year's theme, "We are all public health," aptly underscores this notion. "Public health is more than just healthcare. It involves the measures we take to ensure our neighborhoods and environment are free from pollution. It's about ensuring the safety of our food and water. It's also about the relationships we cultivate in our communities. We are all interconnected. By uniting to support public health, all of us—individuals, families, communities, and the public health sector—can realize the objectives of public health."
