Accurate solar irradiance data is crucial for a range of applications, including architecture, construction planning, meteorology, climate research, and, of course, solar energy. In solar PV systems, this data helps design and optimize energy yields. Traditionally, monofacial fixed-tilt PV modules facing the equator have been used in solar plants. In these systems, monitoring global horizontal and plane of array irradiance is key to optimizing energy output. However, with the rise of bifacial PV modules, system design has become more complex. These panels capture light from both sides, and their performance depends on additional factors such as ground albedo and panel height. Bifacial panels particularly excel in overcast conditions, where diffuse radiation becomes the primary light source.
