It's no secret that CWA and CES are large proponents of strategies and policies that support affordable housing. This is why we are pleased to share the following article from Planetizen that discusses "a proposed rule from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) (that) would make permanent a pandemic-era regulation governing affordable housing residents at risk of eviction." "The rule would mandate a 30-day notification period for evictions for rent nonpayment." This is especially important as individual states have differing policies in place that require much less notification time. According to HUD, the State of Michigan "provides tenants with an eviction notice seven days or less before eviction."
