Typical work in the actors agency on commercial side within a week: ✳ Hundreds of castings published (within one casting there are one to twenty roles)- you need to read the casting carefully, and submit only the actors who actually fit the brief - let's not waste each others time! ✳ Thousands of submissions, as our clients can cover many roles thanks to their language knowlegde, skills, acting experience etc. ✳ Let's say around 50 applications are invitied to tape - yes, sometimes one actor can get 8 castings in one week! ✳ Out of 50 tapes (that we watch, and check, and give notes to) 10 have a recall ✳ Out of 10 recalls, we have 3 pencils ✳ Out of 3 pencils, 2 get the job ✳ And then all the negotiations start - not based on the budget, because it has been stated in the casting, but if the buyouts suddenly change, or other variables do, we have to come to an agreement. Also about other paragraphs in the contract, as they might be questionable for our client - it's not, that we blame the production! They need to cover themselves! But we need to protect our client. In the end both the Agency and the Productions are working on Good Faith and this is a good start. This is just an example, it does not mean that this is exactly how all weeks look like. However it shows, that even if there is a day without calling and negotiating, or checking on the actor who's on set, our days are quite busy as it is. Do you agree?
