🎄Christmas is the one time of year when red and green take over everything—from shimmering ornaments to festive table settings, and even the cup cradling your much-deserved roasted coffee. As the official colours of the holiday, they embody warmth, joy, and nostalgia. But let’s face it: outside the yuletide glow, pairing red and green can be a decor disaster, especially in the office. Why? Well, colour psychology has a lot to do with it!☝️ Red often evokes intensity, energy, or even danger, while green leans toward calmness and nature. Together, they can create visual tension or unintended associations—think “fast-food chains” or “stop-and-go traffic lights.” That said, if you love this bold combo year-round, go ahead and own it! Just remember, those reactions aren’t random—our brains are wired to respond to colour combinations. 😉 And on that note, let’s stir the real debate: When do you think the office Christmas decorations should come down? Asking for a coworker who still has tinsel on their filing cabinet… in March. ••• #PattrnWorkspace #OfficeDesign #CommercialOffice #FurnitureDesign #ModernFurniture #InteriorDesign #WorkplaceDesign #Christmas2024 #ColourPsychology

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. I can still hear my father’s voice as I type this phrase. This statement is the reason why I focus on creating a beautiful and welcoming entryway, inside and out. As you begin to theme out our home for the upcoming holiday season, don’t forget to extend the decor theme from the front entry, straight through your home. Here are a few things to check when creating a welcoming entry: 🎃Be consistent - Picking a theme helps to set the tone for how your guests experience your space. 🎃Keep the walkway clear for ease of entry and gathering to great guests - Don’t crowd the space 🎃Incorporate natural elements - Nature is always changing to bring great textures, colors, and smells each season. 🎃Personalize the look - Style with what brings you joy. 🎃Use light to accent and create drama - Holidays are perfect for this tip. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you are having fun and loving the process as much as the end result. #easyholidaydecor #healthydwelling #curatedexperience #sustainableliving #biophilicliving #biophilicdesign #wellnessdesign #wellbydesign #environmentalwellness #healthylife #womenshealth #wellness #healthylifestyle #healthymehealthywe #wellnessdesigngroup #midlifewomen #healthymadeeasy #naplesfl

What are some of the small things that can help acoustics in venues? I have just come back from a memorable weekend celebrating my parents 60th wedding anniversary in Brussels. The acoustics for meeting family and friends makes a big difference in being able to participate fully. Much of the celebrations were in people’s homes which meant the acoustics were good. This is usually the case because there are soft furnishing to absorb sounds. There was no background music and very good lighting. This enabled me to join in the celebrations more fully than elsewhere. For example, a venue used for celebrating with their friends though wonderful for the warmth of the community was less good acoustically. There are a few things that we can learn from homes- use soft furnishings where possible. This could include fabrics on the walls, table cloths on tables and so on. Visual description is in the alt text. In brief here, the text heading: Acoustics in Venues, Soft Furnishings. #Acoustics #Hospitality #DeafAwareness #Lighting #SoftFurnishings

Transform your home into a cozy haven by skillfully incorporating holiday decorations that exude warmth and welcome. The key is to select a neutral theme that resonates with a wide range of potential buyers, ensuring that your space looks both inviting and stylish. Subtle accents such as seasonal wreaths, soft lighting, and elegant centerpieces can add a festive touch without overwhelming the senses. Remember to avoid overly personal or extravagant displays that may distract from the home's overall appeal. By achieving the right balance, you can create an inviting atmosphere that allows prospective buyers to envision themselves in the space, comfortably celebrating the season. #thenicholsrealestateteam #pismobeach #arroyogrande #pismobeach #realtornearme #arroyogranderealty #realestateagentnearme

if everything goes tits up in architecture. I know I can make a good wreath.
This week, our Birmingham showroom sparkled with Christmas magic as we gathered for an unforgettable evening of wreath-making, led by Eliza Hodges, with amazing support from Alan Miller, Debbie Smallman from Milliken & Company and Sarah Jennings from Altro Limited! The air was filled with laughter, creativity, and a sprinkling of festive chaos that made the night truly special. Guests dove right in, crafting stunning wreaths from fresh greenery, colourful ribbons, and all the best seasonal trimmings. As the creative buzz filled the room, drinks and delicious bites kept everyone fuelled and ready to keep those creative juices flowing. To everyone who joined us: Diya V., Simon Stafford, Carina Baranova, Hannah Matthews, Simon Brambles, Simon Taylor, Sylwia Flanczewska —thank you for bringing your energy, imagination, and holiday spirit! Your incredible creations and the joy you shared made this night unforgettable. #WorkplaceFurniture #FurnitureDesign #OfficeFurniture #OfficeInteriors #FlexibleWorkspaces #SustainableDesign #MadeInTheUK #DesignInnovation #jddfurniture #collaboration #Christmas
