Strapping for a circular economy. Strapping plays a vital role in manufacturing by facilitating the movement and transportation of products between facilities, as well as shipping finished goods to clients and bringing in raw materials for production. This environmental initiative focuses on recycling polyester strapping commonly used in manufacturing processes. With ample volume and minimal contamination, finding recycling centers is feasible. Approximately four to five tons of polyester strapping are recycled, reflecting a commitment to a circular economy and sustainable resource management, given the finite nature of resources. #teknionbettertodaythanyesterday

Flexible packaging is often perceived as non-recyclable. Yet, thanks to increasing collection & recycling infrastructure over the past few years, flexible film recyclates are now used in high-value applications such as stretch, shrink and agricultural films 🙌 There are still some challenges that need to be tackled to improve the circularity of this material. These include improving even more design for recycling and collection.
