Every piece of our Q Semi-Automatic stretch wrappers is meticulously crafted, based on 1000s of site visits, observations and listening as operators, owners and potential customers discussed what they liked and disliked about their existing equipment.
Operators don’t mean to put themselves in harm’s way, but most stretch wrapper designs do just that. Each element of the Q Semi is designed to eliminate as many potential danger points as possible.
For example:
Up until 1994, film delivery systems were located on the “front” of machines. After years of observations, we identified two major problems with this:
1️⃣ Film delivery systems (the cost saving part of the machine) were getting damaged if a forklift placed a load too far forward on the turntable.
2️⃣ When film broke, operators -- in an effort to get back to wrapping the load quickly -- often accidentally put themselves in a dangerous pinch point.
The Q Semi introduced the world to the side-mounted film delivery system. It sounds like a really simple change but it took a tremendous amount of engineering to get the controls and the film delivery system on the same side of the mast.
