Gold Prospecting in Texas: 10 Best Places & Legality Welcome to the world of gold prospecting in Texas, where adventure and mystery are intertwined with the seductive glint of gold. Gold prospecting in Texas is more than just a hobby; it's a pursuit, a journey that will take you deep into the heart of Texas, its history, geology, and the spirit of adventure that defines this great state. We'll dive into the art of gold panning in Texas, revealing seven of the best spots to search for this precious metal. Additionally, we'll demystify the legal aspects of gold prospecting, ensuring your treasure hunt is both fun and law-abiding. The Legality of Gold Prospecting in Texas To start, you must know about the General Mining Act of 1872. This federal law allows citizens to prospect and stake claims on public lands. Not all lands in Texas are federally owned. Texas has a lot of private land. If you try to prospect on private property without permission, you'll likely be in a heap of legal trouble. Now, there are some public lands in Texas where you can prospect. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department manages some of these lands, and they have their own set of rules. They generally don't allow prospecting. If you're determined to try gold panning in Texas, your best bet is to join a gold prospecting club. There are a few in the state, and they often have access to private lands where members can prospect. But even then, there are rules to follow. If you're thinking of going alone, do your homework. Look into the local laws and regulations, and make sure you have all the necessary permits. And if you're in doubt, ask. It's always better to be safe than sorry about gold prospecting in Texas.

DARE TO DREAM Our dreams come to us at night interrupting our sleep or during the day daring us to grow. In Midland TX, we Dare to Dream of being at the top of the oil and gas industry where everyone feels its success rain down. The oilfield is the driving force of Midland’s ideas, imagination, and desires. Yearning for fruition in the form of a booming economy with successful citizens. The oil derrick appears almost like a ladder reaching high up to the sky allowing all to climb towards success. In this image, dreams are not mere idealizations, but instead life realities. A man can stand proud knowing he is working hard to support his family which in turn furthers their ability to imagine. In this image, the field of dreams is not a game, but land that gives back to its people. An industry that opens doors so one might continue to Dare to Dream as their abilities and desires grow. One might look up from the ground and see the impossible while Midland looks up and knows it can be done. The clouds in the background almost appear to be the smoke from an explosion; it is as if the oil derrick stands tall through destruction. The colors in this image cause one to focus on the oil derrick and how tall it stands in all of its glory. Here is proof that hard work develops dreams into reality. That reality only leads us to Dare to Dream, bigger and better dreams! www.bobcallender.com #oilfieldphotography #oilandgasindustry #oilfield #oilfieldservices #oilpatch #bobcallender #roughneck #driller #energystrong #permianbasin #pumpjack #pumpingunit #oilindustry #petroleum #westtexas #fineartphotography #officespace

There's no grease without a lease... Lessons learned as a petroleum landman While the phrase "there's no grease without a lease" sounds a bit cheesy - I think it aptly captured the essence of the role of a petroleum landman - or at least it did - in 1982. I was sure glad to have landed that title in the job-scarce hiring environment that hit just about when I graduated from college. Underscoring the phrase is the reality that a petroleum landman did, and still does, play a crucial role in the oil and gas industry by securing the necessary rights and agreements for drilling operations. A significant part of a petroleum landman's job involves negotiating lease agreements with landowners to gain access to mineral rights. This consists in understanding legal terms, assessing the value of the land, and securing favorable terms for the oil and gas company they represent. Before drilling can commence, the landman conducts a thorough examination of title records to ensure that the company has clear ownership and mineral rights to the land. They identify any potential issues, such as conflicting ownership claims or encumbrances, that need to be addressed before drilling can proceed. In addition to securing leases, petroleum landmen may also be involved in the acquisition or divestiture of oil and gas assets. This could involve negotiating the purchase or sale of leases, mineral rights, or entire oil and gas properties. Petroleum landmen also work closely with regulatory agencies to ensure that drilling operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations. This includes obtaining permits, conducting environmental assessments, and adhering to safety standards. All of those things can be taught - but Texaco also looked for something more - the ability to inspire trust - often sitting across from the landowner at the family's kitchen table. You see, building and maintaining relationships with landowners, government officials, and other stakeholders is essential for a petroleum landman. That's hard to teach. At that moment, you were the company. Looking back - I am so glad for my time in what can be a misunderstood aspect of the industry and grateful for the insights I gained into the importance of earning your audience's trust. As I see it, that should be the goal of every communication effort. #oilandgas #communications #pr #energystrong #publicrelations

vickersgeophysics.com ▶️ New Brunswick, Canada is famous for its' wooden covered bridges and its' longest covered bridge in the world. On our way to a convention, we had taken a small detour to view this magnificent wooden structure. The large wooden trusses that support and distribute the load can last for over a hundred years when enclosed and covered with a roof. This covered bridge is an attribute to New Brunswick's logging industry. An industry that requires the construction of many logging roads in New Brunswick. Roads that give low cost mobilization when used by mineral exploration companies. Enjoy the short video. Albert Vickers, P.Geo. www.vickersgeophysics.com
