FivePoint introduced the first of what is now eight communities in Great Park Neighborhoods 10 years ago with the promise that “life will be different here.” It’s more than just a slogan. It’s a goal and daily challenge to create a place with distinctive style and personality. One that’s lively and imaginative, with a few surprises and delights along the way. Beyond the creation of new streets and structures, residents and visitors tell us they feel a strong sense of community, opportunity and connection at GPN... something different than what they once knew before. As FivePoint continues to invite the community to celebrate GPN’s 10th anniversary, it’s been fun to find collaborators who share that vision and have an interest in creating a uniquely DIFFERENT kind of experience -- both for Great Park Neighborhoods residents and the surrounding community. In the spirit of a modern-day speakeasy, the Irvine location of Left Coast Brewing Co. (located a stone's throw from GPN) has introduced a special “life will be different here” blonde ale this month into its collection of craft brews. If you know to ask for it and tell them Great Park Neighborhoods sent you, you’ll get a free collectible 10th anniversary pint glass. And food/drink discounts (shh… it’ll be our secret). Joy is dependable, accountable and manages multiple tasks and deadlines with ease. Her positive attitude and ability to build trusting and engaging relationships across the organization is so appreciated and has a big impact on our collaborative team culture. Joy exemplifies the Hungerford values on a daily basis, and we thank her for all her contributions over the last 5 years. Q: What is your favourite part of your job? A: I love the people I work with and the enormous amount of autonomy I’m granted. I know my boss has my back 100% which allows me to do my job with confidence. I work with a group of talented, caring and supportive individuals, who come from all walks of life and have varying degrees of experience - I have learned so much from all of them. Q: What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends? A: SLEEP!!! I’m kind of joking. If the weather is bad, I love to curl up on the couch and binge watch my favorite TV shows/movie series and/or read a good book. If the weather is nice and the sun is out, I need to be outside. I’m either hiking, camping, playing beach volleyball/softball or just straight up suntanning. Q: What career advice would you give to your younger self? A: Try to work and surround yourself with people whose values align with your own. Gain as much experience and absorb as much information as you can from every job. Street knowledge is just as important as book knowledge and can’t be taught in a classroom – it only comes with experience. Also, success isn’t just measured by a salary and a title; it’s measured by who you are as a person and how you treat others. Never forget who you are, where you came from and the strength it took to get where you’re at. Q: What is a recent book or movie you would recommend? A: Everything Everywhere All at Once – it’s not recently released but it’s a movie that I would highly recommend. It’s weird, funny, action packed, emotionally charged; it’s a beautifully written/acted story about love and family. #MeettheTeam #HungerfordProperties

Here are a few Southern traditions commonly observed on New Year's: 1. Hoppin' John: Hoppin' John is a traditional Southern dish made with black-eyed peas, rice, and bacon or ham hock. It is believed to bring good luck and prosperity for the coming year. Eating Hoppin' John on New Year's Day is a common tradition in the South. 2. Collard Greens: Alongside Hoppin' John, collard greens are often served on New Year's Day. It is believed that eating greens will bring financial prosperity. The dish is typically seasoned with ham hock or bacon. 3. Cornbread: Cornbread is a staple in Southern cuisine and is often served with Hoppin' John and collard greens on New Year's Day. Its golden color symbolizes wealth and good fortune. 4. New Year's Day Parade: Many Southern cities and towns host New Year's Day parades, featuring marching bands, colorful floats, and community participation. These parades are a festive way to celebrate the beginning of the year. 5. Resolutions and Superstitions: Like people all over the world, Southerners also make New Year's resolutions for personal improvement. Additionally, some Southern superstitions include opening the front door at midnight to let out the old year and welcoming the new year, and avoiding doing laundry on New Year's Day to avoid washing away good luck. These traditions vary across different Southern states and communities, but they all contribute to the unique and vibrant New Year's celebrations in the region.

2 years working, dreaming, believing, and being at Equinox. I remember when I walked through these doors.. even before actually stepping in, as I sat in Think Coffee close by, I realized this is it and where I want to be. Walking in solidified it. For two years, what I have learned: ⚫ Listening to the member, client, person right in front of you gives you all the answers you need. ⚫ Take care of your responsibilities - this ties in with the previous, but also places emphasis on yes, we all have ambitions, taking the necessary steps with the people and priorities in front of us is what will get us there. ⚫ Find time to work on yourself.. as there is so much more we can do when we put our teachings into our own practice and explore on how we can improve. ⚫ Slow and steady... build community by doing what is genuine to you and something that has become a motto of mine.. "Stay in business." ⚫ It will not be easy AND it will be worth it - there is a reason for you wanting something, and now the only thing on the other side to get it is work. We are blessed to have the ability to serve. That is the true definition of hospitality and I am beyond grateful that I am able to take this on. If you feel that there is a place, role, opportunity, challenge, calling your name. There is a reason. Serve. And you can have fun doing it!   Our float in the Christmas parade won first prize!🏆   A team of over 30 volunteers in the Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Patrol (EISTP) spent over a month designing and building a float for this year's parade.   Why?   👉 Because it was fun! 👉 Because play is important for wellbeing. 👉 Because working on a project together builds community! 👉 Because it brought together volunteers in our 250 member EISTP in the "off season" of sea turtle conservation to keep us connected with one another.   In work and in life, you have to put in the time and the reps to reap the rewards.   💯 To sellers, this looks like: ➡️Building relationships with stakeholders, prospective buyers, and colleagues at work that may or may not be on your team (but whose influence might be critical in closing a large deal). ➡️Connecting people to move business forward. ➡️Being a guide to buyers to help them navigate the buying journey. ➡️Listening on LinkedIn to what your target audience is saying and engaging to ensure others know what makes you (and your company) different. ➡️Celebrating wins with your team! 🔁Repeat.
