👩💻 Remote Work: A Working Mom's Perspective As I reflect on my journey, I realize that remote work has been my saving grace. Without it, I couldn't have returned to work so soon after having my child. Let me share my story. As I returned to work after maternity leave, I faced the challenge of balancing my responsibilities as a new mom with my professional commitments. The transition wasn’t easy—I couldn’t sit straight for 6-8 hours, and my baby needed my attention. Remote work became my lifeline, allowing me to be present for both my child and my job. However, beyond personal circumstances, there’s a broader truth: remote work shouldn’t be a necessity; it should be a choice available to all. The pandemic taught us a powerful lesson: jobs can be done from anywhere. Let's advocate for location-free opportunities, especially for working moms. 🌐💪 P.S.: What are your thoughts? Is remote work the future? Special Thanks to Ecosmob Technologies! #WorkingMom #HelpingHand #CorporateCulture

Remote jobs has changed the way we work, offering flexibility and freedom unlike before. But, parents may find it difficult to find a balance between childcare and remote work. Trying to keep up with the kids and house chores while chasing deadlines and in between meetings–there’s a blurred line between work and personal life. When the kids are at home, so do distractions–making it hard to stay focused and productive. Yet, it’s not an impossible thing to solve. Effective time management is important for parents who work remotely. For both parents and children, creating a regular schedule can help build a sense of order. Allocate specific time for your kids to eat, do their homework, play, and nap. Explore technology tools such as scheduling apps and task organisers that can help you streamline workflows and maximise productivity. This will help you to stay organised while taking care of your kids. Communication is key when it comes to remote work parenting. Establishing clear expectations for availability and flexibility with employers helps reduce tension and promote a positive work-life balance. Furthermore, encouraging open discussions with your kids about boundaries and your work obligations can help to encourage understanding. Ultimately, it is all about balance, patience and planning. It might be hard at the beginning, but once you and your kids have established a proper understanding, remote work can be the most fulfilling thing for your family. Are you a remote-working parent? Working remote is not just a nice or convenient thing to do. Remote work is full of opportunities you might have overlooked, such as: 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 👉🏻 Giving disabled people a chance to work. Not everybody is fit to commute. That doesn't mean they are not fit to work. 🧑🦽 👉🏻 Giving people from poor countries a chance to earn a good and honest salary. They will get paid for their work & skills...not being discriminated against and paid less because they work from a poor country. 💰💰💰 👉🏻 Giving people who have left their home countries to pursue better economic standards a chance to return to their homes & family, while continuing the same job - remotely 🥰 👉🏻 Giving care-givers (people who give care to children, elderly or disabled people) a chance to work without leaving the people they care for at home - alone. 👶🏻🧓🏼 So, to all managers & business owners out there: Next time you decide upon remote work policies at work, keep in mind that enabling your teams to work fully remote is you saying YES! to giving people a real opportunity to live better lives. Work is not a place. Work is something we do. And having a great (remote) job shouldn't be a privilege. Do you agree? ❤️ #RemoteWork #WorkFromHome #WorkisNotaPlace #WorkFromAnywhere

I am quite shocked that so many companies wanted people to go back to work - not only is it better for me personally, as a single mom who has worked remotely for 14 years now. It is also better for the company - they save a lot of money on electricity in the office if more people work from home. They save money on travel if their Salespeople use Teams or Webex for sales calls instead of travelling to meetings and if techies do not have to travel to seminars, and instead attend webinars. Webinars are a lot cheaper and easier to host for companies hosting too! So many reasons remote working is great for everyone - less infection, less covid, less sick time/pto. When people work from home they tend to not take a day off if they are sick - they can still work (they would not want to have to drive to an office and get everyone else sick though). Please think again companies - do not force people back into the office - you will lose a lot of them!
Most companies are forcing employees back into the office. But I think they're overlooking the struggles of everyday people. Folks just want to find a great job, do good work, and collect a paycheck. But life isn't only about work. And there are many other things life requires us to do. You know who benefits the most from remote work? → people with disabilities → expecting mothers → single parents → caregivers → introverts If none of this applies to you, consider yourself privileged (and perhaps lucky). Sooner or later, more & more companies will start offering remote work. If some companies don't want to offer remote—others will happily take their best employees. Because people want options (in-office, hybrid, or fully remote) So let's be flexible and give people those options! Definitely agree it is beneficial to have a remote job because it offers flexibility, reduces commuting time and costs, improves work-life balance, and can lead to increased productivity and employee satisfaction. It also allows access to a broader talent pool and can reduce overhead costs for employers.

This was well said. Companies also do not consider the dangers of commuting and what can happen to a forced employee who risks his or her life rushing to the office only to jump on a meeting that happens via Teams anyway ... Commuting is an added risk we as workers are expected to take on which Companies don't think about and are neither protecting us from nor compensating us enough for. Why then would anyone want to take on the risk of commuting, or better yet why would Companies and Leaders force their workers to experience possible danger only to fill a seat? The work can get done remotely the same if not better as Remote workers actually work harder than the average person that goes in to chit chat and walk about at the office.
